I think the 2006 was a good year. Much better than the the 2007 models which were known for the Death Rattle.

Ride is rough even after trying 2 different sets of NEW shocks. Not much room for anything.

Hard To Beat In Its Element — For off road performance a Jeep is hard to beat. When you leave the pavement behind the Wrangler shines like few other vehicles can. If you want to go off-roading the Wrangler is an excellent choice. When going from off road back to the streets and highways the Wrangler goes from King of the Mountain to ugly duckling. If you plan on using it as a commuter then you are choosing style over substance. Be prepared for a loud barely comfortable ride.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: Go anywhere

Cons: Ride comfort

Like A Little Mac Truck! — I liked that every morning I went to get in it, it starts right up like a well oiled machine ! Even when it was freezing cold outside and everything else didn't want to start. The seats are very comfortable for a jeep. I was really surprised. Maneuvers very well and can get it into all those micro mini parking spots they have now. Got a lot of looks and a lot of compliments!

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Reliable strong little go getter !

Cons: Getting to old climb in ! Had hip replacement !

Great Looking But Not Safe For Driving On Road — Be careful what you buy from a dealer /salesperson that knows nothing about Jeeps or offers to tell you anything about maintenance/servicing one. Also most of what you need for a jeep to take care of it or parts a lot of times have to be ordered where I'm from!

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Love to ride with top down and it's great on gas

Cons: No room in vehicle and it's extremely unsafe for my family and myself,it wobbles like hell at 55-60 mile an hour!

Not What You'd Expect — Jeep should be indestructible but the engine failed after 50.000 miles and has not been able to recover. Cheapest car to insure so it's a keeper. Drives well, looks good and other than a corvette who else is going to way to another except Other Jeeps

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: It's a jeep so it's cool

Cons: Engine not reliable

For The Pure Of Soul — If you feel deprived by a lack of power anything, need to have seat warmers, or just feel the concierge at the hotel could have done more - move along. But if your soul pines for mountaintops or distant shores, don't waste another moment of your life before you buy your Jeep.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Last, Best LJ.  6 Speed, top off - doors off joy.  Go anywhere, do anything unstoppable TJ.

Cons: Mileage, kids climbing into back seat, cargo with 3+ passengers.
