Great Family Car — Overall its a great vehicle, maintenance is reasonable. It excellent in the snow, it seats 7 or seats as little as 2 if you need the cargo space for both rear sets of seats fold down for cargo space as necessary. Mine served me well especially in harsh New England weather. Excellent vehicle overall.

Pros: Excellent handling in all road and weather conditions

Cons: Fuel mileage as to be expected with a vehicle of its size.

Fantastic — this particular vehicle has surpassed any thought of being a lemon. It was in the shop once to have the transfer case fluids replaced. That's It! All back seats fold down. Plenty of storage when they are down. 7 passenger belts with all seats up. When all are up the cargo capacity is very limited, with exception to outside top rack area.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Vehicle has been a great family ride. Heated seats and back theater seating is awesome for riders to see the road.  Bluetooth connectivity through the speakers is a plus.  5.7 Liter Hemi has performed without flaw for over 110000 miles

Cons: Once in awhile the starter does not want to engage. The battery was replaced to resolve. When it happens it only requires to return the key to off and keep trying. It has always started.

Decent Family Car — I have the basic Jeep Commander, with rear wheel drive only, not 4WD. I think this has actually been a good thing, and the vehicle handles very nicely in the snow. I have 115K miles on it & have had virtually no repairs done to the vehicle. However there are some future things that will need to be done. I've been told the rims need to be replaced & my a/c needs repair. Other than that this car has been very reliable. No issues, no breaking down, no major repairs & has been a nice ride for the 5 years I've had it.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Plenty of space for the family. The convenience of third row seating. Has been reliable and has not cost me a lot of money to maintain the vehicle.

Cons: Virtually no cargo space when the third row of seats are in use, which is a big problem if traveling far distances. Fuel economy not so great. 16 mpg city/17 mpg highway.

Awesome! — Great SUV. Great On or Off road. When the weather is bad... you can count on this SUV to get you where you are going. Awesome Jeep. Best of the best. Wish Jeep would bring them back with another foot or so of cargo space.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Great On or Off road. When the weather is bad... you can count on this SUV to get you where you are going.

Cons: Wish it had more cargo space.

One Of The Nicer Suv's That I Have Owned. — Very nice vehicle to drive and winter driving makes you feel like you can go through anything. It handles very well and it feels like it has a larger stance than it actually does. The rear seating is easy to move around and transform into a flat surface to haul larger items.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: It handles very well in the winter.

Cons: Would be nice if it had a little better gas mileage but the handling and drive ability makes up for that.

Awesome Fun Vehicle — I like the way it handles. It's fun to drive and it has a lot of room. The 2nd row seat is theatre seating. In other words it sits up higher so the passengers in the back can see better. It has sky lights in the 2nd row seating that has screens you can open for lighting. The 3rd row seats fold down fir extra room.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Great style, lots if room

Cons: Gas mileage could be better. But it does have a 4.7 L V8 so it's not any worse than you would expect.

Jeep 4 Life — Love everything about this jeep - 4th jeep and by far my favorite. Fun to drive, always ready for any occasion, very versatile - you can haul/tow/carpool etc. just as much a family car as it is a working car. zero issues, only fun.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Incredible power and classic jeep styling, fun to drive especially in the mountains.

Cons: Hemi engine requires more fuel than your average car, however not seeing too much difference in fuel economy from my Audi Q7.

Great Car For Family Or Lots Of Trips With Friends — I like the room, the cargo capacity, the stereo quality/sound is great, Jeep rides smooth and quiet, rarely had it in the shop except for routine maintenance. Great overall SUV and met my needs for hauling my kids around.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Is roomy and comfortable on long trips, very smooth, quiet ride, stereo sound is excellent. Not a lot of problems with car

Cons: Gas mileage, but a big car is necessary for big families

Solid, Clean And All Purpose Vehicle. — This Commander has been a great vehicle for our family of 4 for everything from short trips to the school, to vacations, to tailgating and for work purposes. It has been kept up very well, and is in good condition.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Reliable, solid car in all weather, for transporting kids, dogs, and things.  Rides great, lots of room, and with towing package and luggage rack, can take 6 people on long trips very comfortable.

Cons: Gas Mileage.

Looks And Performance Are Great, Gas Mileage Is A Dissappointment. — Jeep Commander is a sporty looking vehicle with unique features and lots of power in the V8. Tradeoff is poor gas mileage and less than ideal leg room in the back seat. The third row is realistically only going to be comfortable for younger children.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: I love the look of this Jeep! It performs so well in the Midwest winter season and has made many successful ski trips with my family! The rack on top is great for a Thule rocket box and looks very sporty! Goes down the highway smoothly and rear heat and air is a great add on! The third row of seats comes in handy for extra riders.

Cons: I would drive my Jeep forever if it wasn't for the poor gas mileage. I have the V8 so performance is great but the tradeoff is big bucks at the gas station. The back seating is not ideal for long legs, and with the head rests up, visibility is poor.
