2006 Ford F-350 Super Duty King Ranch Trim — faster off the line than a mustang with 325 horsepower and 570 lb/ft torque, but then the weight gets to it because it is a 6L diesel and the crew cab, long bed part. it will pull a 747 with no problem. soft leather seats that are saddle leather brown, and made from the same material. hydraulic disk brakes, its gonna stop better than any GM. fuel=$2.65/gal, but then it does get 24mpg highway at 60mph, and 19.5 at 80mph pretty good for 11500lbs. 11city. 38gallon tank. Off road package=4 inch lift in front 6 inch lift in back(stock). it also handles like a mid-sized car. some repairs are costly, but this truck will run for at least 300,000 miles with no problems. and after that i can get it rebuilt and drive it another 300,000 miles. its a ford, it was built tough, unlike dodge which blows transmissions every 30,000miles.

Primary Use: Utility (towing boats, transporting cargo, etc.)

Pros: Power, reliability, comfortable

Cons: parking in a small parking lot... starting in the dead of winter.

Drive A Superduty, It'll Save Your Life — The King Ranch Lariat Superduty is about as close to GM's top end interior for pickups Ford will ever get. It rides much better than my F250 did being a CCLB, but otherwise maintenance and everything should be on par with the F250 if not a bit better.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Superduty and 6-0, what more could you need - oh yah, King Ranch

Cons: Floor consol sucks, but it's worth the captain's chairs

Not Too Bad — Truck is fairly ok, needs improvement on gas mileage, really need to figure out the brake controller. the commercial says it works but have put 55,000 miles on and the dealer says this what we get. But i want to stop.

Owner for 1 years, 6 months

Miles Driven per Year:35,000

Pros: its a ford super duty

Cons: brake controller and fuel mileage.

Somewhere Between A Luxury Car & Pickup Truck. We Owned The Diesel Model. — We bought it for long trips to haul a big trailer. It works great for that. The heated seats are good when you have to sit for hundreds of miles. It still rides like a truck. Quieter in the cab than the Dodge for this year, but not as many after market options.

Pros: Quieter in the cab, and the extra switches are on the dash instead of on a box under the dash for hauling a trailer.

Cons: Not as many after-market options as the Dodge Cummins. A lot of chrome to polish! Hard to park, with the full length bed and crew cab it takes up two spaces lengthwise, the duel wheels mean you gotta watch your sides in narrow spaces.

American Junk Truck. —

Like: it tows our 21' boat, 16' cargo trailer, huge 11' Lance camper and even once 40' single wide mobile home from 3000 miles away. IT IS A DUALLY!!! It can easily handle 3000 lb of scrap metal all the way to the junkyard. One can sleep comfortably on the back seats while the other is driving. Hate: 1) the speed with which the fuel indicator drops to zero. 2) the sudden refusals to engage power steering for no apparent reason only to fix itself after two days. 3) the stubborn engine light which has been reset multiple times and nobody can figure out why it keeps coming on (the computer says air filter is plugged, when it just has been replaced...) 4) The necessity to replace automatic gears box just after 40K miles - the original died. the list goes on and on. 5) The overall lousy reliability - we own German and Japanese cars, and it is always American product which fails. (also have a Dodge Caravan, another piece of junk). SAD. Ford is lying; these trucks are not "built Ford tough". They are built so that the car mechanics are assured their American dreams. As for us, the owners- we are looking forward to the day when Toyota comes up with a diesel, true long bed (8') version of Tundra, preferably dually... We will then ditch Ford in a heartbeat.

Primary Use: Utility (towing boats, transporting cargo, etc.)

Pros: Big and heavy duty

Cons: Unreliable

06 F350 King Ranch Powerstroke — I'm a tall man at 6' 7" and need the head and leg room. When shopping for a new truck the cab on the Ford was much more comfortable for me. With the King Ranch package I have all of the amenities and comfort combined with a very rugged and good looking interior. I like that the seating has me in a more upright position than the Chevy I drove, giving me the feeling of greater visibility. The power is good with enough to pull any trailer I have quite well. The integrated brake controller is a nice touch and works better than any aftermarket unit I have used. The only cons I have are the fuel economy should be better, (I get about 16 mpg hwy) and due to the power they eat tires even when driving conservatively.

Primary Use: Utility (towing boats, transporting cargo, etc.)

Pros: truck has great power, pulls and hauls loads very well and looks primo while doing it

Cons: Diesel maintenance costs are higher than gas powered rigs, but worth the price if you need the work done.
