A General Motors Convert — This is my 1st Suv and my 1st ford product. Bought the car after only 1 test drive. Great deal with all the depreciation. I have owned two buicks, a park ave and more recently a regal, as well as a chevy. This car has outperformed my expecatations. It's ride is intoxicatingly smooth and the v6 works fine for me as it's just me and my girlfriend with no kids. The styling is great and I love the distinctive grill between the trim lines. Love sitting up high and I feel like I am scrubbing the ground when I get in my girlfriends volvo. Car feels solidly built and you feel sufficiently protected if there is a crash. I have to get used to the lower mpg but I had already prepared for that before I made the purchase. Have no complaints at this time, but the car is only 3 weeks old in my driveway and has about 24k miles on it. Looking forward to at least 3-4 years of ownership if not more and I am very pleased with my purchase.

Pros: Styling, build quality, seating height, smooth, compliant ride, ample cargo space, rear park assist

Cons: Fuel economy-but it is a truck!

My Explorer — i love the heated seats! nice and toasty in the winter weather. the only thing i would change bout this Explorer is the Wheels and addition of Fords Sync/ Navigation system. The only problem i have had with my Explorer is, it miss fired once and fouled out a spark plug. other than Regular oil changes it has been problem free for 84000 miles.

Pros: Near Maintaince Free

Cons: Only one maintance issue

Ford Explorer 2006 Eddie Bauer — Great for hauling kids, dogs, bikes, surfboards and general yard stuff. Very utilitarian, a lot better on the gas than you'd think...about 18 in town...and that's stop and go. Great on the highway, around 22-25 mpg. Very stable, handles a lot better than my 1999 Explorer. All in all, a good buy, a good brand, a good truck. Looks sharp, but needs a re-design on the interior functionality. IPOD docks, phones, etc. It's my third Explorer, but, I'm ready for a little hot car next. I'm getting old.

Pros: Good, all-round truck - comfortable seating for 7. Easy to re-configure seating, nice interior.

Cons: Needs to update to the 21st century. I live in my truck, would like a little office space.

Explorer — We love this vehicle also! We have always had an Explorer. This Ford blue in color replaced a black one, we use this car in town and also for travel and have plenty of room. It is great when hauling kids around because there is a third row seat for plenty of room.

Pros: third row seat

Cons: none

Big Improvemnt Over My Last Vehicle — I definitely like driving my truck. I got it because I didn't trust my jeep on interstate.

Pros: rides real well, American truck, very stylish

Cons: gas mileage

Good For A Body On Frame Suv — this was moms car that i drove regularly for close to a year. when i first was driving it i thought it was awesome but after having my fusion for awhile now i now think it was only an ok vehicle. handled real well for such a large truck and was a beast in the snow. good torque for around town but only so-so power for merging and passing.

Pros: rsc, handling (for a truck), quietness

Cons: GAS MILEAGE. 11-12 city. 19 highway in summer with NO wind.

Plenty Of Room And Plenty Of Power — The 4.0 V-6 has plenty of power. the car has roll over stability controll that keeps the car stable even when going too fast.

Pros: good power and lots of space

Cons: not 4x4

The Best Explorer/suv Ever Built. — The 2006 year was a milestone for the Ford Motor Company with the redesign of the Ford Explorer line of mid-sized suvs. I had a 1998 V8 Explorer before this car came into my life, and I can not see what I ever saw in the old one. The designing on the interior is awesome (looking much like the F-150's) and the exterior is beautiful. The drive is completely smooth and Ford did an excellent job reducing the noise of the cabin almost to an inaudible amount on the highway. Safety is a must too. The Explorer comes with RSC which basically gives you stability in sudden turn scenarios, and has one of the best airbag systems in the industry. I would recommend this car to anyone who wants to enjoy driving and wants the best suv on the road. If you drive this car, you will never be able to drive another main brand suv again.

Pros: Everything.

Cons: not having the more powerful engine.
