Brilliant Car But Not Good Enough — When I first drove this car it was amazing, although I went for the entry level 1.2 petrol engine. The 1.2 engine isn't brilliant, it is outclassed by the older model in terms of speed. The car is brilliant to drive, its suspension is stiff but handles bumps with ease lovely cornering sharp turning and comfortable. The car is very poor in terms of build quality, my glove box kept breaking, I had issues with the paint which FIAT then refused to repair claiming I had put paint on the car. All repairs were a hassle on every occassion it took at least 3 weeks to get parts. The garage Motorsales Harlow sucked, they told me service intervals were 12 thousand miles and only after I got rid of it I found it the service interval was 18 thousand miles, did not support me when trying to fiat to repair my paint work, never answered the phone or got back to me. The looks of the car are gorgeous I was really impressed with the cars external and interior looks, compared to any other model it was so sleek.

Pros: fun to drive, comfortable, steering is sharp, very good mpg, looks gorgeous

Cons: slow, poor build quality, poor customer service from dealer and FIAT, the supercar jokes are just plain annoying

Buy At Least 1.4 16v — I drove 1.4 8v for a couple of thousand km, few times took it for a trip. I must say - it almost doesn't move with 1.4 liter engine. Perhaps 1.4 16V with 100HP could give it a punch, but this one is so anemic and driving it feels like slow motion movie scene. It just doesn't feel any faster than 1.2 8v "classic" Punto. Anyways, this car can take a corner, but bumps are not absorbed very well and feels like lifting off... like it's bouncing on a springs :) Noise is kept very low even in high revs. You can take it to a highway and it won't be noisy. Also, ventilation could blow little stronger and aircon isn't very powerfull. Urban fuel consumption is 7.5l/100km is very carefull. Casual driver does 8-8.5l/100km. On a freeway, it comsumes about 9l/100km at roughly 130km/h.

Pros: Looks, handles, easy to drive, dual-drive servo, quiet

Cons: Brakes are way too sensitive! It takes some time to get used to it, but they annoy always. Jumpy drive, weak ventilation blower and weak aircon. 1.4 8v is just not enough for this car. It can barely do 150km/h (according to GPS) and driving over 130km/h is pointless because of engine that begs for mercy and fuel consumption rises over 10l/100km.

Sporty, Rammed With Technology & Extremely Safe! — My Punto is the 1.4 16v Sporting. 17" Alloys, Sports body kit, sporting bucket seats, Blue&Me Bluetooth phone technology, dual zone aircon, cruise control, 6 speed gear box, rain sensing wipers.... The car holds plenty of acceleration if required but the ride is so comfortable you are never in any rush to get out! Controls inside were confusing to begin with but after time become natural. Very sizable boot and lots of leg room in front and back. 5 star Ncap safety rating and all seat belts and 3 point! It also has 6 airbags in the front!

Pros: Space, Speed, Looks and Safety.

Cons: Controls, Fuel consumption.

A Very Refinned Small Car. — Doesn't give you the fun factor cheekyness of the old one. But this one is so much more comfortable and a very refinned car. Needs to have a big engine behind it though, it has no where near as much nip as the old one on account of all the extra weight.

Good Reliable And Safe, But Performance Is Not Good Enough. — Interior is nice but dashboard is quite big compared to other hatchbacks, exterior is smooth and curvy and at 4m in length is quite alot for the cheap price. Handling is good and sticks to the road, although i'm not so impressed with the performance, acceleration is quite fast but after about 70 it takes a while to get to top speed which is a very low 105 mph. Overall impression with my car is, if you're looking for a cheap reliable and afe car then this is for you, but if you like performance then this is not, i suggest going for the 1.9 sport edition for a few K more.

Pros: Safe, reliable, good looking.

Cons: Too slow and dashboard is too big, doesn't feel like a small car.
