It A Chevrolet And A Fun Car — the car has some power to it for a supercharged 2.0. i love the stock body kit and the rims that are on mine are stock just plasti dipped. and the cost for this car is not bad at all, i would say that i do pay a little bit for gas due to the fact that you should put premium into it but other than that i love the car. a great car for first time manual drivers, i learned from my car

Pros: love my car

Cons: i have no complaints at the moment but will post if i do have some

A Good Buy — Picked up my Cobalt 9 months ago....for a "throwaway car" it's given me good service so far. Rides well, has good power for a 4-banger, shifts smoothly. Interior is good, but cheap-looking and kind of small when there's more than one person in it. Great gas milage (30+MPG) all the options, (air, CD cruise etc.) All in all a great little car, better than the worn-out Focus I had before it...I'll never buy a Ford again..

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Good power
Fuel efficient
Smooth ride
handles well in curves and corners

Cons: Kinda crampy interior
Cheap-looking plastic
rattles and groans a little

Good First Car — Decent acceleration and handling. Perfect braking. Has not really needed any repairs. The fan squeaks a little but I plan on having that looked at soon. Looks great! Great gas mileage and low maintenance, mostly just oil changes. Very fun to drive!

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Almost everything!

Cons: Only has 4 cylinders

Not A Fan. — Overall, I had little issues with the car, mechanically wise. It is a nice car if you are generally driving alone and have long distances to drive. The coupe version is definitely not a family car. Has two doors and the back seat has very little leg room.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Leather Seats, moonroof and gas mileage.

Cons: Sporty ride, little power.  Comfortable ride for only two.

Dependable Daily Driver — I would say that overall the car is a dependable for a daily driver. The motor is solid, could use a little more power but its a base model so thats to be expected. I would say however, the automatic tranny could be better, its not bad but could be better. Only other downfall is its 4 lug instead of 5 and the rear brakes are drum.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Dependable car, good fuel economy, low maintenance costs

Cons: Seems to have small minor ecm issues, likes to go into engine power reduced mode a lot. Lacking on a power a little bit for as big of a 4 cylinder as it is.

Reliable — The car is great for commuting to school/work. The gas mileage is fantastic and the car requires minimal maintenance. The car handles well and rides comfortably. It is not suited for use as a family car. The car was very affordable and I'm happy that it was my first "new" car.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Great gas mileage, very reliable and requires little maintenance.

Cons: The trunk opening is rather small although the trunk area is sufficient.

Great Little Car That Is Reliable And Fun To Drive — Purchashed a 2006 Colbalt LT two months ago and loved it from the start. Only issue was the front end which was under warranty and parts replaced. No further problems. Gas mileage is the best average 28 miles per gallon. Lots of zip and a smooth ride.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Great Gas mileage - average 28 mile per gallon

Cons: Colbats are known for there front end problems - while under warranty had both sway bars & intermediate steering column replaced ( no charge )

A Dependable/inexpensive Car. — When I first bought the car I could get very close to 40 mpg. Now, after 4 years it looks more like 30-34 mpg. Still decent but, not impressive. I have been pleasantly surprised at the dependability of this car. When i bought the car it had 35,000 miles and now it has 135,000. It has been a very inexpensive 4 years and 100,000 miles of driving.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: I bought the 2006 Chevy Cobalt after my divorce.  It was cheap!  I have spent very limited amount on maintenance.  I do keep the oil changed regularly.  I am about to pass the car onto my daughter.  Wouldn't think of selling it or trading it away.  It's been a great little car.  If you have car seats . . . I wouldn't recommend a 2 door.  If your kids are older they can climb in and out just fine.

Cons: It is a very sensible car - It is not particularly sporty or fun to drive.
