Great Car — Its a 4 liter so it isnt bad on insurance but the 2.2l ecotec gives nice torque. So far i have rims, tires, muffler, and debadged. Hoping to get some performance mods and a wing very soon.

Pros: nice smooth looking car that also gets 30 mpgs

Cons: suspension sucks need a strut bar

Decent For Gas Mileage, But Not Sporty Despite The Ss — The traction control pretty much cancels out any chance of the SS status living up the its heritage.

Pros: Decent gas mileage, when compared to my Avalanche

Cons: Not a chance of being sporty in any world

Only Wish I Would Have Waited For Turbo... — Great front wheel drive car. Fast, agile, and sounds gorgeous. I love everything about this car.

Pros: Fast, cheap to mod, looks good

Cons: Hard to find bolt pattern for wheels, weak transmission, has reliability issues.

Competent And Solid Overall. — I only gave it 3 stars because I generally prefer midsize cars with their higher levels of content and engine power. But among compacts, the Cobalt is a well made sedan or coupe. The main drawback to these cars is that the rear seat is extremely tight. Other than that, its a keeper.

Pros: Good ride, interior assembly, interior layout, reasonably quiet

Cons: rear seat space, fuel economy could be a tad better.

A Fun Drive Around Town. —

The car is base LT four-door model. Bought the car nearly brand-new with less than 100 miles on it. Never have had to fix a thing on it yet, and it's got nearly 27,000 miles on it now. It's reliable, but it's only been two years. However, the car is one of the lowest costing cars GM offers, and the interior shows this. It's rated at one of the "healthiest" looking interiors, but it's very blah (my interior is the tan with silver accents). The car is a little small for four passengers to be seated in there for some time. Surprisingly, the available trunk space is quite large. Performance wise, it only has 140 some horsepower, so it's not the fastest car on the block. The handling is around the same level, along with the braking. The ride is decent. I do not have ABS, and have gotten into a couple of scary situations because of it. ABS is nice to have, but you still can avoid accidents without it. I was wary of driving the car during the winter with snow/ice for braking concerns, but at the end of the winter I preferred driving my car over friend's cars. The reason for this is because alot of the road can be felt through the stearing wheel. I knew exactly when my wheels would start spinning, and could easily adjust steering to counteract any slipping. I do get decent gas mileage. During the summer, my in-town driving gets around 26-28mpg, and highway can be as high as 36mpg. In-town mpg suffers during the winter and drops down to 23 mpg.

Pros: Lots of space for a compact car.  Fun to drive

Cons: Interior is cheap

Finnally A Gm Car You Can Be Proud Of. — GM really put a lot of efforts in making the Cobalt SS the quality car it is today. The engine and the frame are taken from the Europeen Opel Astra while the suspension and the brakes were made by the same engineers that created the Subaru WRX.

Pros: Perfect handling, Solid durable and performing engine, looks that turn heads. Excellent factory sound system.

Cons: Interior is a little cheap, like every GM.
