A Perfect Reminder Of Why Bmw's Have Such A Good Reputation — Great looking, fairly fast (electronically limited to 155mph), very smooth ride, good visibility, decent features. Its the kind of car where you can be going 90mph and listen to high end classical music and feel right.

Pros: Great acceleration, easy to control with a good turning radius, responsive steering and smooth ride.

Cons: Front seats are a bit uncomfortable, even though you can adjust just about every part of the seats it just never seems right... Surprisingly the back seats are very comfortable

Looks Great From All Angles; A Technology Tour-de-force — Great car. Not as ubiquitous as the 3-series. The Auburn interior (the orangy one) is a head- turner. No problems with the iDrive -- I love it. Roomy, huge trunk, good cabin storage. Looks good from all angles (though I wasn't crazy about the Bangle-styled 5-series when it came out a few years ago). The 525i has been adequate and then some. Decent mileage.

Pros: Great shape; smooth performance; comfortable cabin

Cons: None yet.

Nice Looks, Bad Engine — Was my second company car, and I had no choice again but to go for a diesel ... Sucks beyond imagination

Amazing — I love driving this car. I feel very safe and I love having heated seats, a heated steering wheel and all the other bells and whistles. I love driving a BMW and i don't know if I can ever go back to driving anything else.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Stylish, powerful, and handles like a dream.

Cons: Don't plan on carrying many people or things

The 5 Series Is Thee Ultimate Driving Machine. — Great power and handling. I've owned a 2000 528i and a 2006 550i. Both had the manual transmission. The 550i was 71k new back in 06. It had Heads up display and transferred your contacts via bluetooth into the car.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Power, Handling, Technology, Features, Seats and Voice Command (550i)

Cons: Not a M5

Beutiful And Comfy Car Handles Great. Great Milage. But Breaks Down From Time To Time — though it has only a 2 liter diesel motor it performs very well, 165 horsepowers and yet very great milage. accelerates almost like a v8 and breaks are very powerful. it is a very beautiful car inside and out and a perfect build i think, it is perfectly sound insulated, almost no road sound and music sounds great in it. it has needed repairs and parts are not cheap. a very comfortable car and great to drive

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: i like to drive it, it is very comfortable and handles like a dream. also it has wery great gas milage.

Cons: reliability, i have just in a few months changed front shocks and springs, window wiper motor, front wheel bearing and more. also thi car is not made for snow, i live in iceland for heavens sake:)

Handling Ranked 2006 Mercedes-Benz C-Class C 230 Sport better.
"I believe the C230 has a lower ride height, making it feel like its sticking to the ground more than the 525i."
Family Car Ranked 2006 Mercedes-Benz C-Class C 230 Sport worse.
"The C230 has the comfort mode and all, but I prefer the 525i on casual driving as in road trips and such."
