5 Series Diesel's The Way Forward — It's actually the m-Sport 3lt Diesel - wicked good all round - and at 35mpg+ you cannot complain Sporty enough to have fun, relaxed enough to drive distance and not be tired, bullet proof reliable Inbuilt TV handy for when Marielle's shopping, I can keep watching sports on freeview ;-)

    Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: blend of performance, comfort and economy

    Cons: cost of tires, brakes

Great Car That Is Fun To Drive — It has great mpg on the highway if you use the cruise control, does about ~28mpg on a gas of tank for me. I like the comfortable ride and the looks of this wonderful car. It is a stable and well built car.

    Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Its overall performance and appearance

Cons: It sometimes gets stuck in a gear on the downhill

A Family Beast — if you can't afford an M5, this is not only close to that, but in the Sport version you get a great suspension without being overly firm and comfortable for the family to ride in. Another big bonus is that the cost for maintenance is much lower than the M version. At 365HP, you are just 34 short of the E36 M5, and the gas mileage I have been getting is above 22mph!

Pros: HP, HP, HP, (did I mention HP yet?), Style, Blue Tooth, Interior Room and comfort in a sport package

Cons: Too much computer controlled, no Oil Temp guage or Water Temp guage.

Bmw 5 Touring — Fast and fun to drive. Alive with technology which is why it often doesnt work. To be honest not the cars fault but the so called BMW technicians who invariably break it when its serviced. Also mentally expensive to run due to rip off merchant BMW Dealerships In Conclusion buy a Mondeo instead

    Pros: powwwwwwwwwwwwer

    Cons: Dealerships

Great Car — I love this car, my dad just got it for me and its so smooth. you can't feel any bumps in the road and it still has speed, also if the interior is so nice when you get the premium and sport package, packages that are worth it are premium, sport, and nav

Pros: Elegent, Fast, and Very Useful

Cons: price is a little expensive

2006 Bmw 530i — What can I say? It is a BMW. Drive like on a rail, but at the same time it is comfortable. Not like my 2.5” dropped Integra with Tokico shock. Soild car. Incredible mid-range torque. Pass any car in the freeway effortlessly. Driving dynamic is very good. Bad stuff: back seat leg room is smaller than Maxima, the I-drive system learning curve is longer than other luxury brand and it is hard to use, and the 6 speed tranny has some problem on the 2nd gear (sometime it feel like it is stuck and need to push the gas more than other gear). I would have gotten a 5 speeds manual tranny, but I have wait for 3 months. (forget it).

    Pros: It is a BMW

Cons: i-drive system and 2 gears.

They Call This Progression? — So i've only driven one base model of the new 5 series, but my experiance with that one wasn't wonderful. I mean it was still nice...it'd better be for 45 grand... it was bigger and fancier than the last model. it also didn't handle or just feel as good as the previous model. I was sad to see some of the cloth trim already comming off! then again it was at the volvo dealership so they could demonstrate/compare how much nicer the volvos are! so i'm sure they didn't chose the best one. I wasn't as impressed as i thought i should have been but i'll reserve judgement till i've driven another.

Pros: feels solid. fairly quiet. comfortable seats. fun electronic toys

Cons: doesn't feel as good on the road as the previous model. funny looking.

Great Car And Absolutely Valueable! — Me personally I would need more power, but it is just the 525.. therefore everything is just great and it anyway runs 245km/h on the speedometer. Handling couldn't be better for a sedan. Electronic deviced are just great as e.g. the voice control, the headup-display and whatever you say: the iDrive works perfect to me! Better than the reportedly better Audi-system! And for sure better than Mercedes. The design is angry and different.. I like it, cause Audi is great from inside, but boring from the outside.

Pros: Just the best car in this class.

Cons: All extras cost a lot in Europe... as known for all Beemers and Benz.

A Perfect Reminder Of Why Bmw's Have Such A Good Reputation — Great looking, fairly fast (electronically limited to 155mph), very smooth ride, good visibility, decent features. Its the kind of car where you can be going 90mph and listen to high end classical music and feel right.

Pros: Great acceleration, easy to control with a good turning radius, responsive steering and smooth ride.

Cons: Front seats are a bit uncomfortable, even though you can adjust just about every part of the seats it just never seems right... Surprisingly the back seats are very comfortable

Looks Great From All Angles; A Technology Tour-de-force — Great car. Not as ubiquitous as the 3-series. The Auburn interior (the orangy one) is a head- turner. No problems with the iDrive -- I love it. Roomy, huge trunk, good cabin storage. Looks good from all angles (though I wasn't crazy about the Bangle-styled 5-series when it came out a few years ago). The 525i has been adequate and then some. Decent mileage.

Pros: Great shape; smooth performance; comfortable cabin

    Cons: None yet.
