There were few changes to Audi's influential coupe this year. The 2006 Audi TT base model features a 1.8-liter, 180-hp, turbo I4 engine matched to a 6-speed Tiptronic auto transmission with manual mode. The curvy front-wheel drive coupe seats four (with split-folding rear seats)and comes standard with ABS brakes, stability and traction control, dual-front airbags, headlight cleaners, a first aid kit, fog lights, and xenon headlights, which is typical for Audi's safety record.
While trying to keep the 2006 TT Coupe light for optimal engine performance, there are still a lot of standard features, such as leather upholstery sport seats, power accessories, automatic climate control, a trip computer, a CD player, a rear spoiler, keyless entry, heated mirrors and washer jets, and leather and alloy interior accents. There are not many options, but you can get heated seats, a CD changer, a navigation system, and satellite radio. Drivers of the 2006 TT Coupe love the looks, but wish it had more power.

The base Roadster is front-wheel drive, powered by a 1.8-liter, turbo I4 that hits 180-hp and is paired with a 6-speed Tiptronic auto/manual shift transmission. Its soft top is removed manually. The two-seater does come equipped with traction and stability control, ABS brakes, dual front-side airbags, fog lights, headlight cleaners, xenon headlights, and self-leveling headlights.
Sitting inside the 2006 TT Roadster, you'll find leather seats, automatic climate control, a trip computer, first aid kit, power windows, locks, and mirrors, heated mirrors and heated washer jets, a CD changer, shift paddles on the steering wheel, and leather and alloy interior trim. Outside, the Roadster sits on 17-inch wheels and has a rear spoiler. Options include heated front seats, upgraded leather, navigation system, satellite radio, and a universal remote. Like the base Coupe, the 2006 TT quattro has a 1.8-liter turbo I4, but it rates 225-hp. It is paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. It sits on 17-inch alloy wheels, and comes with ABS brakes, traction and stability control, foglights, xenon headlights, dual front-side airbags, headlight cleaners, and a first aid kit. The quattro also features a limited slip differential.
Otherwise, the 2006 TT quattro Coupe is like the front-wheel drive version, featuring a trip computer, leather seats, cruise control, heated mirrors and washer fluid, front sport seats, a CD player, and leather and alloy accents. There is also a cargo cover for the small trunk. Rear seats split-fold to provide 19 cubic feet of trunk space. Options include satellite radio, a navigation system, 18-inch tires, heated seats, and a garage opener. Highlights for drivers of the 2006 Audi TT quattro Coupe include a fun ride, road-hugging grip and handling, and good gas mileage. The sportiest of the roadster lineup, the 2006 Audi TT Roadster 3.2 quattro features a 3.2-liter, 250-hp turbo V6 engine coupled with a DSG transmission that provides smoother gear transitions and is supposed to improve performance. The 2006 TT 250hp quattro Convertible also comes with quattro all-wheel drive, a limited slip differential, a stiffer sports suspension, and changes to the exhaust. Traction and stability control are standard, as are 17-inch performance tires, dual-front airbags, xenon headlights, fog lights, and an security system. Rollover protection is standard on the roadster. Side airbags are optional.
Other than the sportier refinements, the Roadster 3.2 quattro has the same features as the other trims, including leather seats, a trip computer, a power top with heated glass window, power mirrors, locks, and windows, cruise control, shift paddles, dual-zone climate control, CD player, heated mirrors and washer jets, a first aid kit, leather and alloy accents, and a rear spoiler. Options are the same as the other convertibles -- heated seats, navigation system, satellite radio, and upgraded leather. Drivers love the smooth DSG transmission and the expert handling, but wish the 2006 TT 250hp Convertible had more horsepower.

A 3.1-liter, 250-hp V6 drives it, coupled with a 6-speed DSG seamless shift auto/manual transmission that many drivers really enjoy. The 2006 TT 3.2 quattro also has a sports-tuned stiffer suspension and tweaks to the exhaust system for a sportier ride. All-wheel drive and limited slip differential are standard, as are ABS brakes, traction and stability control, xenon headlights, headlight cleaners, foglights, a first aid kit, dual front-side airbags.
Leather seats, a trip computer, keyless entry, cruise control, shift paddles on the steering wheel, leather trim, heated folding rearview mirror and heated washer jets, a rear spoiler, and a CD player. An outdoor temperature gauge is standard on the 2006 TT 3.2 quattro. If you need more convenience and luxury, you can add on Alcantara leather, satellite radio, a navigation system, heated seats, and splash guards. The 2006 Audi TT Special Edition Coupe celebrates 99 years of the Tourist Tropy race, which gave the TT its name. Only 99 Special Edition coupes were produced. They are identical to the 3.2 quattro coupe, but add on special badging, paint, and larger two-tone 18-inch performance tires. They are powered by a 3.2-liter, 250-hp V6 engine and 6-speed DSG auto/manual transmission. The quattro all-wheel drive is accompanied by a limited slip differential. Safety features include dual front-side airbags, ABS brakes, traction and stability control, headlight cleaners, adaptive xenon headlights, and foglights.
The 2006 TT Special Edition Coupe features upgrade leather upholstery and heated seats. The other equipment is similar to the 3.2 quattro -- a trip computer, cruise control, shift paddles, power accessories, heated rearview mirror and washer jets, leather and alloy interior trim and a leather steering wheel, a CD player, automatic climate control, a cargo cover, and a rear spoiler. Rear seats split-fold for 19 cubic feet of trunk space. Power seats are not available. Because it is a Special Edition, there are no options other than a satellite radio.

All-wheel drive quattro replaces front-wheel drive in the 2006 Audi TT Roadster quattro. This sexy roadster features a stronger engine and more sure-footed confident road handling with the all-wheel drive and limited slip differential. The 225-hp 1.8-liter turbo I4 has been tweaked for more horsepower and comes with a 6-speed manual transmission. The convertible also features a power top (the 180hp has a manual top). It has larger 17-inch performance tires than the 180hp. Traction and stability control, ABS brakes, dual front-side airbags, xenon headlights, fog lights, security system, first aid kit, and headlamp cleaners are standard. Rollover protection is also standard in the 2006 TT Roadster quattro. Side airbags are optional.
Inside, you'll find leather seats, leather and alloy trim, a trip computer, tachometer, dual-zone climate control, a CD changer, heated mirrors, heated washer jets, and a multi-function remote. You can add a navigation system, heated seats, satellite radio, and an upgraded audio system. Drivers of the 2006 TT Roadster quattro love its handling, quattro performance, and say it gets good fuel economy. Some wish it had more trunk space.

These are identical to the 3.2 quattro Roadsters, but have special paint, exterior modifications, and two-tone 18-inch performance tires. The 2006 TT Special Edition Roadster comes with quattro all-wheel drive, a 250-hp, 3.2-liter turbo V6, and a DSG automatic transmission. Dual front-side airbags, traction and stability control, rollover protection, xenon headlights, a first aid kit, headlamp washers, fog lights, and a security system are all standard. The convertible has a power soft top and heated glass rear window.
