Reliability — Performes well for a 1.6i. The build quality is acceptable. The styling is not as pretty as the hatchback, but it is practical. It is very light on fuel, I had an average consumption of 13.5 kilometers per litre of petrol on the way to Durban in December.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Boot space is sufficient.

Cons: No problems

A Strong Little Car Thats Quite Cheap To Run But Is Comprimised By Cost Cutting And A Dull Drive. —

The VW Polo TDI (2002-2009) hatchback is one of the more popular small cars mainly due to the VW badge. Its quite good on fuel (diesel), but this is reduced at motorway speeds. Best economy results are at between 50 and 60mph in 5th gear with revs at no more than 2 on the dial. Manual shift - no automatic option on diesel Polo's of this generation. This model doesnt feature auto engine stop-start in traffic. Its a strong little car, but this is comprimised by cost cutting which can be seen in the boot quality (opening and closing), and quality of cabin materials. Although the front seats are very good. This facelifted 2005 model is the 70ps TDI, and the delivery of power is fairly good regardless of revs. At lower speeds, you can feel that this car is a diesel, but at 50mph its like driving a petrol car. Its at its best between 50-60mph. A new shape Polo has just been launched which looks a lot more sporty, although some of the panels at the back appear to be the same. Some of the engines are the same too. So far in nearly 6 months of ownership, I have not had to have anything done to it in the form of repairs. The only thing I have done is replace the wiper blades as the ones on there when I got it were worn out. This car is not a drivers car - its quite dull to drive. Even though the steering, brakes, ride quality, are all ok or quite good, it is missing the X factor. If you put your foot down, it will go a bit faster, but the economy suffers quite quickly.

Pros: Its a VW. Strong little car. Quite good on fuel.

Cons: Some cheap hard plastics - signs of cost cutting. Its dull to drive.

Volksawgen Polo 1.4 Automatic — The Vehicles Pick up is a bit slow , basically because of the car's heaviness.. but once its picked up .. it goes fast .. The Vehicles does consume lots of petrol compared to any other Japanese Vehicle of its class.. The Vehicles Appearance is simply superb..Lovely .. This is a good car.. I love it.

Pros: Heaviness,Germas Safety features

Cons: Petrol Consumption
