My Thoughts — The Passat is the first German car I have owned so far I really like to over all performance, build quality and cost of ownership. The 1.8 turbo gets the car enough power even with the auto trans and 4 motion (all wheel drive). COO is good at 20 mpg in town and 27 on hwy.

    Primary Use: Commuting to work

    Pros: Alot

    Cons: Headlights

Very Nice Car At The Right Price — Its fast and drives and handles nicely. it corners with precision on winding roads. The styling of this car is very nice. Although the inside is more classy the outside is sporty and sophisticated. This is a really fun car.

    Primary Use: Commuting to work

    Pros: fast, nice, longevity

Cons: little bit more power.  Wish 4matic was standard on passat

2005 Vw Passat Tdi Gls - Yes - It's A Diesel!!! — It's a Diesel!! What more can I say about 40 mpg every week! With the Turbo Lag I can pass people easily without losing too much fuel efficiency. Cost of ownership is great - minimal repairs, just regular maintenance. Very fun to drive especially with the Triptronic shifter I can pretend I have a Manual transmission and shift back to Automatic whenever I want!

Pros: Feul effeiciency, great pick-up speed, quiet for a diesel, great sound system (monsoon)

Cons: Hard to find a Dealer repair shop with good customer service

Great Car, Great Mpg, Great Everything. — The Passat has great build quality, it's solid on the road at any speed, and the acceleration is great thanks to the spirited 1.8 litre 4 Cylinder Turbo, with a few tweaks. Even with my heavy right foot, the Passat is getting an average of 22 mpg in the city, and 30 on the highway. It's rather remarkable! I love my Passat.

    Pros: Acceleration, Gas Mileage, Value

    Cons: None.

'05 Vw Passat — This car performs very well. Acceleration and braking are superb. Handling in corners is great. It has needed minor electrical repairs (light over visor was stuck on, trunk release problem, and static in one speaker). It is a fun car to drive, but not as fun as the Beetle. Gas mileage is around 22 city and 31 highway.

Pros: Great performance, fun to drive, nice looking

    Cons: Minor electrical issues

Bio Diesel A Go Go — 38mpg on B99 biodiesel, good economy, great handling, pretty good tradeoff. Stock stereo is mediocre, seats are okay

Pros: bio diesel economy and pride, handling

Cons: obsessive German auto locks on doors all the time, always having to unlock.  mediocre stereo

Great Car For The Money — Love the interior and the handling of this car. I am an owner of a 3/4 ton Chevy and a Suburban and driving such big vehicles for years makes me appreciate being able to drive this car when I just want to go to the store bymyself or with my family and not ever having to always down at the fuel gage.

Owner for 0 years, 4 months

Pros: Good Gas mileage; great acceleration once you get by the turbo lag

Cons: Turbo Lag, That Damn "Dinger" when you don't put your seat belt on.

The Last Of The Old Model.. 4 Motion 130 Hp Tdi — On this car VW had done some nice improvements. The car was 99% flawless for the 50.000 km I drove it. The only issue was the GPS system. Both the antenna and the navigation unit had to be changed. (antenna twice). The interior was nice, the engine performance superb, and the 4x4 system was Audi quality! Good seats, fresh performance and plenty of space.

Pros: the 1,9 lt. Tdi engine, the seats, the AC, the electronics overall

Cons: Navigational system, a bit too much engine noise
