And Amazing Bang For Your Buck!!! Toyota Quality And Comfort! Amazing Reliability And So Fun!! — In one 50 mile round trip I go on every kind of road this car is designed to travel on: from gravel/dirt, to two lane country, to four lane town, to eight/six lane major highways (28, and 66). On average I take this trip three times a week. I also used to car pool the 26 mile round trip to my school in Arlington VA through DC traffic 5 days a week. So this car has seen everything!! Acceleration- smooth as long as you don't hit the 'threshold.' There is a point at which the fuel injectors kick it up a few notches too high and the automatic transmission refuses to kick in killing your gas mileage as well as 0-60 time. Really its not a problem at all for normal driving!! It only becomes a problem when passing on two lane roads and getting onto major highways with no merge room or getting up to seep quickly. Braking- with the standard breaks, as long as you don't engage the anti-lock function, they are very responsive! Handling- it has a god feel to it but when you hit 70 the car is sensitive the tiny movements on the wheel. A.k.a. movements that keep you in one lane but you move from one side to the other. Yet, surprisingly when it comes to changing lanes quickly or evasive manurers at higher speeds [63-67mph] the car handles very smoothly and with great response. Unfortunately I've had dodge some accidents on 66 a few times. OFF YOUR CELL PHONES WHILE DRIVING PEOPLE!!!!! Build Quality- The only things I would change about this car is 1) the shocks- I would tighten them up a little more so when handling the car through out of the ordinary circumstances the driver gets more feedback from the car 2) the transmission's quality is not the best on my automatic. It slips a lot between 1st and 2nd. And the clutch activates for too long when trying to get a quick start. Appearance- The exterior paint/finnish does not wear well. Its collected a lot of little scratches which kills the shine of the paint flecks. And there are two spots where the paint and finnish have corroded away. Giving way to one small rust spot. Other then that though I think the car looks great!! The interior is very comfortable!! It cools off quickly in the summer and warms up amazingly fast in the winter. -Only takes about 3 min for the defrosters to melt ice and snow on the windshield enough to use the whippers to take the rest off. (within reason of course) Fun Factor: 9/10!! I have the sunroof package and having all the windows down and that open on a nice summer day driving down two lane roads with music and sounds of the road in my ear with my girlfriend in the car with friends.. there is nothing better!!

    Primary Use: Commuting to work

    Pros: See quick take!

    Cons: Slippery transmission.

Camry.. Its Ok? — Its a great care. I would love to have a v^ but the 4 cyl packs a punch... for 20K this car is pretty good. A very nice sedan very conservative. The ride is rather smooth and very responsive but in no way anywhere near a sport car. If my friend was learning how to drive, i would recommend this. P.S. Kinda weird pulling into a parking stall next to the EXACT SAME car, only to see an elderly couple driving it... 0.o

    Pros: Decent car... ultra reliable

Cons: Very unoriginal, so many out there...

Good Car — its a sportivo. the worst turning circle on earth. but all round good car. good fuel economy, decent power for a big car, suede interior, dolby surround stereo. awesome for stock. bit slow off the mark, strong engine, good top end, sounds pretty nice for a 6. i like it

    Pros: comfy and spacious

    Cons: turning circle is crap

Toyota Has More Work To Do Before I'm Impressed. — I'm not really as impressed with this model as I thought I would be. '05 was the first year Toyota hooked its engine up to an electronic throttle and 5-speed automatic transmission. It just doesn't feel right. It lurches when the throttle is pressed even slightly. Since we drive in parking garages a lot, this feels pretty unsafe. It also handles pretty badly, but I attribute most of that to the crappy tires the dealer put on when we bought it. The only thing I'm really excited about is the resale value, and that it's loaded with every conceivable option that is available on the Camry (except heated seats and V6). The rear spoiler really dresses the car up; I wouldn't have bought the car if it wasn't there. Toyota did a great job working with JBL on the set up of the stereo.

Pros: Resale value, 6-disc JBL CD changer, sporty look with the rear spoiler, automatic-everything, pretty comfortable on trips.

Cons: Floaty handling (I'm a little biased to my Passat that I've had for 4 years), spongy brakes, electronic throttle paired with the 5-speed automatic transmission doesn't work well together, below-average fuel economy.

Barely Broken In With 48,000 Miles. — Bought new, kept up routine maintenance. Bought tires last year. No problems.

Pros: Very nice, even four years later. Never had a problem.

Cons: accelerator could be smoother - tension a little stiff.
