Winter Weapon — A WRB STI was my boyhood dream car and it hasn't disappointed me! It's an absolute weapon in the snow and a blast to drive in all conditions. The engine has a good amount of power and the transmission is perfect. Smooth engagement, short throw and bomb-proof build quality. Engine has the performance of a supercar but the reliability of an econobox. Highly recommend to anyone looking for powerful all-year-round car.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Awesome power and torque. Great steering feel and overall handling. AWD and limited slip differentials make the STI a tank in the snow.

Cons: Rides like a race car. Standard rattles associated with Subarus and other Japanese cars.

Bought It As Our First Family Car. — Loved this car. Bought it as our first family car. Put a smile on everyone's face every time we walked up to it. Only problem, as family grew, we needed a bigger car/van. And to be fair, I didn't like some of the standard features (brakes) and upgraded to the STi/SPT parts. I would recommend this to almost everyone.

Fast Car For A Good Price Thats Way To Much Fun 2 Drive!! — This is the greatest car ever!! I fell in love with it when it came out with the 2004-2005 body style and I had to have one, but it took me a couple of years to save the $$$. They are fast have excellent acceleration, braking, and traction since they are AWD and have a turbo. The only downfall of this car is that it is one of the most abused cars out there do to their insane amount of fun to drive!!! If purchasing used you should plan on spending a grand or tow on repairs to get the thing back to good condition. Gas mileage varies on how you drive it but i typically get 20-23mpg. So far it has been a high maintenance car with problems the shop and I cant seem to figure out(thanks to the previous owner) Thats why i would suggest buying new or plan on replacing a few things

Pros: Fast, holds to road, smooth ride, and plain sexy

Cons: Abusive owners

"Open sourced Engine code; Reprogram a stock car to get 50+ HP at the wheels."
Value Ranked 2005 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution RS better.
"Subarus have a long stroke motor and have a tendency to throw a rod when modified unless significant mods are made. EVOs mod easily. Both are great cars. EVOs are better "

A very capable car, but had a much more go-cart like feel over bumps, and not quite as settled in turns or under hard breaking as the M3. Materials seemed cheap inside, and while seats weren’t amazing, they did a decent job of keeping you in place. The boxer 4 growl is great, and the transmission and 4wd system are really the gems of this car.
