Subaru's sporty compact sedan is the 2005 Impreza 2.5 RS, which takes its name from Subaru's rally reputation. Powered by a 2.5-liter, 165-hp H4 engine and choice of 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic, the four-door sedan was the first in its class to get all-wheel drive. It features a limited slip differential, 4-wheel ABS brakes, daytime running lights, 16-inch wheels, and dual front airbags. Foglights, skid plates, a rear spoiler, and an aluminum shifter knob are both practical and sporty accessories.
The interior comes with the full power setup (windows, locks, mirrors), and tachometer, cruise control, CD player, and leather trim. Rear seats do not split-fold, and the trunk holds up to 11 cubic feet of cargo. A security system is optional for the 2005 Impreza 2.5 RS sedan. Styling, power, handling, and the highest IIHS crash ratings are some of the compliments given by owners, who like the sporty look and feel. Larger tires, better fuel economy (23/30), and more legroom in the back are some of the complaints.
