2005 Nissan PrimeraReview

Not Recommended, Mondeo Does A Better Job! — Wasn't a Nissan... A Laguna II underneath... Fuel pump gave way... Only 130BHP from a 2.2, drove more like a petrol no noticeable torque, comfy seats, good satnav/centre console controls. Poor handling compared to the previous Primera Range. Build quality was average. Not really a car to recommend. Piss poor Fuel Consumption for a Diesel!

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Great Technology, Sat nav, Reversing Camera, Great 6 Speed Box.

Cons: Fuel Economy, Mediocre Preformance, Poor Reliability.

2005 Nissan PrimeraReview

Spacious, Economical And Modern Design. —

Although I didn't opt for the built-in SATNav, the onboard COmputer with LCD center console is unmatched to any other car in the same price range. All AC, radio/CD, trip gage, fuel economy and many other onboard controls are easily accessible from the Center console. The screen also double as the view screen for rear view camera which only displays while in the reverse gear. The 17' wheels along with the sleek curves make this one of the best looking Station Wagons on the market. Match that with the 1.9 l. DCi Turbo Deisel that produces 120 bhp and 270 Nm of torque really hep passing on the highway. Not a lot of body role when cornering for a station car due to the 4 wheel independent suspension. I chose this car as it was simply the best value for the price. We use the car as a daily driver so fuel economy is important 17 km/ltr although it is still comfortable for the long haul trips we make. We've had the car since it was new, built in Nov '05 purchased in March '06. So far we have about we've averaged 17000km/yr with nothing needed other than standard servicing. Its a family car that still make driving fun. The only changes I may make would be to install the power-master tuning chip which increases torque and bhp by 30% without loss to fuel economy. Only problem would be that I would have to re-register the car with the increased bhp and inform the insurance company so the jury is still out on that one. The only reason I will change cars is when this one is too old or I can afford to get the Audi A6 station wagon.

Pros: -Diesel Power. That is more fuel efficient than the petrol counterpart.  (Only way to go with this model.)
-Rear view camera.
-Six air-bags including curtain air-bags for children in back seat.
-great interior.
-Resale value remains high on only Diesel model.

Cons: -The dash does squeak a little bit when driving and can be annoying.
-Weather strips that seal the front wind screen needed to be glued into place which caused a little more wind drag noise at highway speed.
-180% Danish Car tax which put this car in the high $40000 range at time of purchase.
