My Ford Explorer — I like the short turning ability and the visibility in traffic. I also feel very safe in this vehicle when I am driving in snow and Ice, it seems to want to hold tight to the road. I runs awesomew

Pros: Great seating for several people, turns on a dime,

Cons: just that it is a little bigger to park in small places

A Great Ecomony Suv — For its size it doesn't get bad gas milage. it takes as much fuel as a v6 mustang. Love the handling and the 4x4. however this one has a flawed tranny that si starting to have issues despite not beign that old.

Pros: 4x4 and greta handling

Cons: this one also has a flawed trany

Not Bad For A Ford — Looks good and is comfortable inside. Has had lots of issues though with performance and can't even get through WI snow.

Pros: Convenient size for families and working.

Cons: It's a Ford

Extremely Reliable Suv — The Explorer is a midsized SUV, that’s extremely reliable as well as very stylish. The Explorer is a No frills reliable truck, that get’s decent high way mileage. Some of the newer models step up the options available, but this truck really shines without those extra gadgets.

Pros: reliable, tough, roomy, powerful

Cons: low fuel economy, wider turning radius then smaller trucks

Me Gusta — it's a pretty big car and it's high up. it's got everything that can come with an eddie bauer.

Pros: sweet lookin', leather interior, subs, faster than 4runner, seats 7, seat warmers

Cons: bad gas mileage, it's a ford

Best Vehicle I've Owned — I have no problems with the Explorer. It's a comfortable ride and provides plenty of room without making the vehicle seem 'too big'. Seven seats and even the rear ones provide leg room, enough for an adult.

Love It, But Only Buy One If You Need One. —

Performance-Acceleration is quick for SUV. Literally goes anywhere!! Braking is strong and linear with no drama, Handling is fantastic concidering its 4600lbs and over 6 feet tall. The electronic stability control keeps everything rubber side down. As far as build quality goes there hasnt been anything to really go wrong with it except a seal on the front diff which the dealer took care of. The stock appearance is better than most mini-van-esque SUV's out there and the addition of much larger AT/S tires did the trick. Gas mileage isn't bad for the Mustang derived 4.6L V8. On the highway you can get up to 22 MPG massaging the pedal. In the city its too big and too fun to get any better than 14 MPG. Oil Changes come by every 5000 miles and they are only $30 at most. The regular scheduled maintainance has been really inexpensive. I do most of the work so outside of new brakes and tires its been faithful. As fun factors go it depends on your personality. If you have a blast knowing that the 12" of snow/mud/whatever is merely scenery then yeah its a very entertaining vehicle to drive. If your idea of fun is carving canyon roads its one of the best SUV's that can actually tow over 7000 lbs, but i could find it tiring trying to navigate the twisties. Some other things to be aware of is that if you have never had a vehicle with ESC/RSC it can plainly scare the stuff out of you the first time it kicks in. in hard.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Towing, Off Road, Ride, Size

Cons: Gas Mileage, Canyon Carving
