This Car Is Pure "sunshine". — This car goes like snot from a sneeze. Some of the worst things I can say about it is the reliability of the one I happened to purchase lasted only as long as the warranty. When the car was up and running, it was extremely fun to drive. Especially when I took it through some of the mountains of British Columbia. It handles like a front wheel drive car should. Speed in excess of 200km/h makes the back end lift up and the car floats. It is not a comforting feeling when a touch of the steering wheel makes it feel like you are going to fly off the road. The seats in the car seem excessively sporty. Almost too big to fit into. Tough they are nice and tight, the leather sides wear out quickly and I would have like to replace them with a nice set of Sparco or Ricaro seats. This was a nice car, the horsepower makes you feel powerful, the rumble makes you feel unstoppable, but the people make you feel like you are still driving a Neon, until you destroy their Honda Civic off the line.

    Pros: Fast, fun, cheap.

Cons: Inuendos gets your reviews deleted.

My Car — Fast, 0-60 in 5.3 seconds, handles well, still a four door, stock LSD, boost is awesome, 32MPH highway with 270hp and 309 Tourque. Very fun to drive. Viper inspired racing seats! 4 wheel disc brakes, 2.4 turbo and so buildable to what you desire.

    Pros: Fast

    Cons: 93 octane only

Highly Recommended For Driving Enthusiasts Willing To Sacrifice Some Comfort For Performance —

If you're looking for an inexpensive, practical 4-dr car that will punch $5-10K above its price range, and are willing to compromise a bit of comfort (compared to a Civic, RSX, etc), the SRT-4 should definitely be on your list. I bought my SRT-4 new in July 2005, and have since put over 42K miles on it. I've only had two problems with it: (1) Somewhere around 20K miles, an "ambient temperature sensor" went bad. It didn't affect driveability at all, but the Check Engine light came on so I took it in to the dealer, and they fixed it at no cost under my extended warranty. (2) At approx. 40K miles, one of the ignition wires burned out. The dealer replaced all four wires, at a cost $110 (inc. labor). Overall, the car has been great to own. It's a blast to drive. It's fast, handles well, brakes well, and gets decent mileage if you don't drive like a psychopath. I've averaged 21 MPG in the city and 26 MPG on the highway. The seats do get a bit uncomfortable on long rides (3+ hrs) and some of the interior materials are cheap, but what do you expect for $22K car that will hit 60 MPH in under six seconds and top out at over 145 MPH? The SRT guys had to save $$$ somewhere. The back seat is usable for normal-sized adults for short to medium-length trips, and the trunk can hold a decent amount of stuff. Overall, the interior is very functional and has held up very well. A side benefit to owning an SRT-4 is that you won't see one on every corner. Dodge only built somewhere between 30-40K of them over three years. You'll get the inevitable "it's a Neon" comments, but who cares? As a new car, it was the fastest and most practical car I could buy in 2005, and I think it holds up well as a used car. One final tip: don't buy a heavily modified SRT-4 unless you are VERY sure of the quality and reliability of the mods. Try to find a stock SRT and modify it yourself. Mine is still under warranty, so the only mods I've done are springs (1.25" lowering), 18" wheels/tires, a 3" cat-back exhaust, and a K&N air filter.

Pros: Best bang for the buck - period.  Good reliability (if it's not hacked up and/or abused).

Cons: Interior not as nice (or quiet) as Japanese competitors.  Ride can be a bit rough on bad roads.

Great Overpriced Car. — Love it all the way, but it's still a neon :) Performance wise is great, acceleration and handling is good. OR should i say acceleration is great and handling is good. Build quality .... well .... it has proud sticker on it "made in America" and all it says to me that as soon as warranty is over - I'll start to have problems. Appearance: I like the way it looks with it's round headlight that looks like a frog :) Gas mileage is terrible!!! It's turbo, what else can i say. Car is very very very fun to drive.

Pros: 2.4L Turbo 4 door sedan......

    Cons: Front Wheel Drive, Neon

If You Don't Have Anywhere Important To Go — Good performance great fuel economy poorly built nice appearance great to drive roomy interior oem parts are cheap and readily available front seats are too low retail manufacture selling price too high for quality of car this car is fun to drive, great hiway car once all the factory parts have been replaced with high priced aftermarket parts this is a good car should have bought a celica or a tiberon, same price

    Pros: good fuel mileage

    Cons: under built

2005 Srt -4 — performance wise it will leave most cars at the lights black on black all the bells and a turbo whistle fits a single 12" sub in the trunk good enough for me its hard on tires though lights them to easy i guess windows are a pain to clean in the back seat

    Pros: its fast

    Cons: eats tires

Amazing Car, Definately Recommended For A College Student. — All Neons leak when it rains. They all leak through the back taillights because the seal isn't tight. This is easily fixable. Gas mileage is absolutely amazing, about 35 on highway. Maintenance isn't too bad. It doesn't do too bad with acceleration, the brakes squeak all the time though which is also common with neons. Handling is amazing. When I hit two coyotes this summer, the front bumper flexed and slightly cracked so the build isn't too bad. I love the interior of it, its what I look for, its nice and clean.

Pros: Small, compact, easy to navigate.

Cons: I lose my car all the time! It hides behind huge trucks

Skittle — Its a neon on steroids, and it gets the job done. performance wise its awesome. the turbo really makes it scoot. People say its just a neon, and i say well good job. you are right. Its a fun car to drive and not that expensive to maintain. Well, tires are hard to keep on it haha. it could use a little help in the handling department, but theres always aftermarket parts for that.

    Pros: Fast

    Cons: Its a neon

Neon Srt-4 — this car is nicely built. comfortable family designed but has a lot of speed and intense feeling while driving. turbo is good and strongley built. shifts very smooth and sits very low and angled to the ground. the color and engine is easy to take care of and maintain the car

Pros: sweet, quite ride and smooth

    Cons: hydroplanes after 110 mph

The Best Car — The best car i have ever owned, turbo is better than s/c any day. the fact that a "neon" can be as fast as the top cars out there shocks people , but it just makes them want one even more. the style , feel and over all handling of the car is awesome

    Pros: everything

    Cons: nothin
