If It Were Coffee It Would Be Half Caf — From a mechanical standpoint this car is awesome. In 2005 it set a record for production fwd cars at the historic nurburgring in germany. However Chevy opted to do things that dont make sense to me. For example they dressed up the motor with fancy covers, they gave me a massive spoiler, a 7 speaker sound system and pointless 18" wheels. While to some this may be a good thing, but when the interior build quality isnt up to par with anything in its class I would have much rather had a moderate stereo cloth seats no spoiler 17" wheels off some other car in the gm lineup and cloth seats in exchage for NO RATTLES.

Pros: The motor, the suspension.

Cons: The Interior sucks quality wise.

Mine's Dodger Blue — It's great for a single family! It made a 5 state trip with little trouble. only problem of course was going up the mountains, it is only 4-cylinders! Other then that it's a cool little ride.

Pros: Great gas

Cons: 4-cylinder

Great Reliable Car, Lacking In Extras — I have the most basic cobalt you can own. 4dr sedan. Victory red in color. Very reliable, simple but I would recommend the coupe.

Pros: Good on gas, inexpensive, Clean look, Fun to drive

Cons: Boring Interior, that's about it

Cons: small trunk opening...

Not Worth It. — This base model is crap. Everything on the inside is plastic. It struggles to get to 60mph. Cheaply made American car. Then again, look at the price your paying for it.

Pros: It gets you from point A to point B.

Cons: Check full review.

Base Ain't Bad — This car can handle hard times. The interior is better than the previous SL1, featuring great seats and a classy dash layout. While the CD player in that dash is very prone to failure in extreme heat or cold, it can be replaced. Unfortunately, such replacement costs a lot of money since so much of the car is wired through the radio harness. The audio is below average, but that's upgradable as well. The handling impressed me, and the acceleration was familiar since the Cobalt uses the same motor as the SL1. It's a little heavier than the Saturn, but it looks so much better that it doesn't matter. Also, the Cobalt responds very well to quality performance parts. I added a Magnaflow catback exhaust and an AEM cold- air intake to gain a little power with much success. This is definitely better than the average 4-banger.

Pros: takes incredible amounts of damage without being totaled, reliable, automatic locks

Cons: terrible in snow, ugly hub caps, uglier steelies, long antenna, manual windows, bad CD
player, cardboard speakers

Love The Car, Having Difficulty Working On It. — I love the way it runs, and the stock stereo is great. The ride is very smooth. I just wish they made it easier to work on.

Good For Short Commutes, Easy Handling — The interior is fairly big for the car being the size it is. As long as you're a passenger it's a comfortable ride. It would be more comfortable for the driver if there was cruise control. The one I drove didn't have it but other than that it was nice to drive. Good handling and traction on dry roads. Overall good and reliable car. Hasn't had any major issues yet.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Smooth and quiet ride, fairly comfortable seats, pretty good gas mileage and easy handling.

Cons: Kind of plain looking, no cruise control and as soon as I step off the brake the car starts to move (on flat land and even slight upward hills). Also not a great car to drive on snowy roads. I had difficult time driving in 1-2 inch snow.

Looks Good, Goes Better — With that supercharger the acceleration is awesome, 2nd and 3rd gear really pull. Corners good and flat, though it is front wheel drive. I like the look of the interior, I think it should age well style wise. But the trim around the window switch gear is peeling and it's been replaced once all ready, come on GM you can't paint plastic. Looks wise, everybody thinks I put the body kit on and compliments me on it. Tires and oil changes are brutally expensive but I guess that's the cost of owning a fast car. I can get 40mpg on the highway and V8 power when I step on it, best of both worlds.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: Faster then all it's competitors and cheaper then most.

Cons: A little expensive to maintain, and the trunk opening is way to small.
