Tuner Car Speed And Style With German Engineering Support.... Not The Local Punk Kid — Great German performer with a quirky look and rockstar performance. The cornering with the AWD is superb! The seats are beautifully crafted. And the controls are absolutely intuitive in both location and function! You get all the jap tuner car flair, but it is engineer by craftsmen. It's not a bunch of aftermarket crap glued to the original car.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Handling and performance

Cons: a bit hard to get used to the exterior asthetics

Best Car Ever. — Acceleration, braking, and handling are all exceptional. It's a Volkswagen, so it obviously is built with the utmost quality. It's very pleasing to the eye. Inside and out. Great curves, dual tip exhaust, leather interior, etc. The mileage is pretty decent, and hardly requires maintenance. This car is extremely fun to drive. 6 speed manual.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: AWD, Manual, VW, Fast

Cons: None?

Well-kept Secret — There isn't much you can't like about VW's Wolf in Sheep's clothing. Decent power and handling, AWD, and typicallyTeutonic interior, with just enough creature comforts. And the first time your mother-in-law dusts some hopped-up Ricer from a stoplight is priceless. C'mon, it's just a Golf, right? Riiiight. The only downsides are the price (too high), and the relative rarity of the model (only 5,000 units of the '04 in the US) that seems to puzzle some technicians and service advisers.

Pros: Fun to drive, nice balance of features

Cons: Probably overpriced, even used; rare enough that service could be tricky
