I have taken it offroading and it is a very fun car to drive and also extremely dependable. Good One — so far so goodf 2 O2 sensors warrenty, breaks at 39k thats it, V6 runs like a watch milage has been good woith about 18 city 22 highway very comfortable solid and looks nice w/ mica blue 17" wheels stock tires not so good put michlen cross terain they work great good in any weather. Is This Really A Toyota? — my friend bought one of these cars and absolutely hates it. he says that it is uncomfortable, especcially the third row seat, which is barely big enough to support an adult. the horrible handling and breaking cancel out what would be "amazing" performance by the v8 powertrain. the car isn't necessarily your average toyota, being that it is very unreliable. Pros: well, none, really. Cons: handling, braking, reliability, build quality, ugly inside and out, terrible fit and finish, gas mileage, pricey repairs, not fun to drive, confusing option packages when buying. |

Toyota's Service Rating Is A Scam. — poor paint. ridiculously expensive repairs, most of which are not warrantied. Owner for 3 years, 6 months Miles Driven per Year:18,000 Pros: design aesthetic. Cons: warranty language is written so toyota coverage is minimal and is as worthless as the paper on which it is written. |

2004 Toyota 4Runner SR5 Review
I have had this car for 13 years, it is a V8, with over 200K miles on my baby, it is time for something new, but I am not getting rid of it, I will keep it for towing things. Toyota needs to make the current 4Runner with a V8 option. This has been the BEST car I have ever owned, it has bee so reliable. The only thing I have had to do beyond normal maint is valve cover gaskets and changed the timing belt. It has developed a small leak around the gasket to the thermostat, but it is small and I can keep fluid in the reservoir thing. Gas mileage is around 19 MPG, it has the power and pulls things well. vs2004 Honda CR-V LX
