Solid First Sports Car. Out Of The Box Fun. A Great Patform To Modify. —

This year was an overall step up for the model; every little bit was a little bit better. the seats are decently bolstered, the gauge cluster puts the tach in the middle, and the pedal set is nicely spaced for heel toe downshifting and with aluminum covers. the exterior looks are, let's face it, hit or miss. you will either love the seasoned boxer front end, or hate the broken nose styling. the stock suspension wasn't overwhelmed by the small 2.0 liter block, and with a stage 2 setup under the hood, this car can easily keep up with a stock STi. watch out, though, if that STi is tuned in any way. in a straight line, there are car lengths between them. with that said, i've installed strut tower braces, swift sport mach springs, 17x8" rims with uprated rubber. Potenza RE-01R, and then RE-11, are light years ahead of the stock RE-92 tires. keep your stock rims, though, for some dedicated snow tires. if you can only change one thing: TIRES! otherwise the STi will keep you jealously coveting the rock solid grip of the RE-070 but be ware of wet weather slip and slide. don't drive like an ***hole, and you'll be fine.

Pros: Do you need to drive daily, through the twisties? it's more comfortable than an EVO.

Cons: plastic panels squeake, seatbelt whines. rip that out and race it.

2004 Subaru Impreza WRX Wagon Review
Dillon says:
Great car with plenty of stock power and good fuel economy. Plenty of space for my family and the awd helped it handle anything even in the snow. Even slight braking in the snow it slid a little bit but easily controlled. I upgraded the car with exhaust air intake and a tune and added coilovers and it feels like a race car with comfort and style!
