2004 Subaru Impreza WRX WagonReview

A Grippy Weekend Rally Car With Space Enough To Fit An Entire Rock Band Worth Of Gear! — There are many cars on the road today, and as more and more of todays young drivers switch from V8 muscle to japanese tuning we have a medley of cars to choose from. What ever it is your looking for, the new tuner lifestyle will suit you. From 40 mpg to 10 sec drag times its clear the 4 cylinder is here to stay. With gas prices soaring to new records this could be the end of combustion engines as we know it. But in the middle of all this is my pic for the best new age sports car, the Subaru Inprezia WRX. This little car is powered by a 227HP Turbo Charged and Intercooled 4 cylinder boxer engine. Stock the WRX is a real go getter and a very respectable car. Its quick, Tight turns, and just feels right in your hands. With the turn of the key the motor comes alive and its clear from the sound this is no regular 4 banger. The WRX is perfect for the weekend warrior looking for a car to get into Auto Cross yet still able to get back and forth to work with no fuss. My 2004 Java Black WRX wagon is just this car. Its roomy, Quick, Responsive, and everything i could ask for in a car. Check one out, you wont forget it.
Pros:
*Power
Cons:
*has to have Premium Fuel (91 Octane minimum) |

Practical Performance Car - Great In The Snow!! — Has practicality & performance covered, SL pack adds a touch of luxury with heated leather & sunroof ... trim & stereo could be improved. Overall, very easy to drive quickly, and 4-wheel drive superb in the british winter weather. Prodrive performance pack gives it extra poke! Pros: Powerful & Practical. More understated than saloon Cons: Stereo & interior trim. Jockeys in chavmobiles try to race! |

It's Like A Bike With 4 Wheels — Before I got this car I was not very impressed with cars because I rode bikes. I must say that every time I got in the car everything felt better, the sound is awesome, the car handles really well, even the small turning circle doesn't bother me. When you drop the clutch and the car doesn't even spin, it just goes forward you'll know what I mean with the summary. Pros: Great driving experience, Comfortable seats, reliable, value for money. Cons: Fuel consumption is horrible if the boost gauge goes over 0 kpa... which is almost all the time ;-) |

*love It! — AWD grips the road great. Seats fit like a glove. MOMO stock steering wheel. Turbo. 6 CD in-dash changer. Pros: AWD, Turbo, Cons: Like any import..trying to do anything with wires is difficult because everything is so compact. Once you get used to it, it's not a big deal. |

Supa Fast Awd Pocket Rocket! — Loved the car the minute i test drove her! Have since made 100 + BHp gain and spent almost $10k on her...totally worth it! Not that she was insufficient in any way stock...i just craved more. Pros: AWD, good gas mileage, good cornering, fantastic boost, affordable, myriad of parts available to upgrade, loving subaru owner family! Cons: with the exhaust roaring and visible upgrades, she's a cop magnet! |

My First Subaru, And The Car That Got Me Hooked. — I bought my 2004 WRX brand new, and fell in love during the test drive! For the person wanting a little pep, but basically not a "full on race car", this is the car for you! This car handles great, and it a very good representative the the Impreza line. Pros: AWD, 227 hp/217 ft lb torque, handles great, very stylish Cons: Many have had problems with the tranny in the 2004 models....typically losing synchro in the higher gears. I experienced this first hand when I lost the synchro from 3rd to 4th gear. This is a problem ONLY with the 2004 5-speed trannies. |

Great Car — Ate tires up but other than that it was pretty good. I don't really have any other complaints other than the so so gas mileage but it's a turbo charged car and if you use the turbo, your gas mileage drops. Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: Economical, handles great on and off road. Very reliable......never broke down or had to be towed in the 6 years I owned it. Cons: Gas mileage is so, so. Chewed through tires every 20k. |
