Move On - Nothing To See — Ok car for that price. Not much to brag about. Skoda is Skoda, although it becomes more and more similar to both Audi and VW. Performance - Sucks Build Quality - Good Appearance - Medium CoO - Medium to low Fun Factor - Non existing

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Nothing awesome

Cons: The brand

Octavia Nice — cheap to buy, cheap to maintaine, great gas milege, bad seats, slow if not optimized, cheap parts, overall a pretty great car if your looking for value for the money but it get´s boring and unexiting very fast, the best og VW, Audi and porsche in one single package.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: gas milege is awesome

Cons: slow

Skoda Octavia — I'd bought this pre-owned vehicle for a period. The build quality and the performance are probably the most positive aspects of this vehicle. It's also got excellent handling on the highway. It's the maintenance cost and the dealership issues that caused me to sell it finally.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Build Quality

Cons: Ownership Cost

Like A Golf Only Better. — When my Felicia Combi died, I was heart broken but I'd only paid 500 euro's for her and got six months of hard driving out of her. I had already decided that I liked Skoda and had been lusting after the Octavia for some time. There's just something about the bonnet in the 99-04 (1U) build that I love. I originally wanted to get a 5000euro 99 model in racing green but the finance company wouldn't go for such an old model so I ended up deciding between a 1.4 and 1.6 petrol model. Having driven diesels and suv's for some time due to work, I really wanted my Octavia to have a decent but not cripplingly expensive engine. The 1.6 won the day and I'm so glad I went for the 1.6. Performance wise it does exactly what I want. The 0 to 40 is fast, so it's a good city car. The 40 to 70 isn't great on the motorway, but I'm rarely there. That said I can still overtake staying in fifth gear which is a first for me. The build quality is nothing short of amazing. It feels solid without being too heavy. Nothing has broken or gone wrong in sixth months of driving, apart from a loose door lock fixing (fixed myself with a screwdriver) and an EPC lockup which didn't affect anything and hasn't re-occured. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and I bought this specific model over the newer one because I loved the look. That said, my breath is still taken away when I see it parked. I've made some minor modifications to enhance the look - chrome number plate surrounds and chrome door handle covers. I'm consistently getting good fuel economy, averaging around 35 mpg which is great. I used this car when I recently moved house and with the back seats down I was able to carry single beds and wardrobes without any real problems. Saved a fortune in van rental. In short I would highly recommend this car to anyone who wants a solid, reliable and highly practical car.

Pros: Solid, reliable, huge boot, a lot of parts compatiblity with golf mark 4 range, gorgeous

Cons: Not much space for rear passengers

One Of The Best Cars I Have Ever Owned! — The car has a reputation as a badly disguised VW Golf but i have found that the car is actually more than just a Golf rip-off. Whilst the majority of the swithgear is VW the outward appearance is all down to Skoda. Simply an all round good car. i do a lot of towing and the Diesel engine has been perfect with lots of low end torque and i still get 50+mpg on the motorway with a half-ton trailer. The only gripe that i could possibly admit to is the fact that with the possible exception of the radio everything is linked into a multiplex wiring system. Which will cause fun and games if you do not get the exact part number replacement.

Pros: Build quality, Fuel consumption, Towing power, Boot size, Legroom in the front

Cons: Some areas are not home-repair friendly, Rear passenger legroom, Badge still considered a bit duff!

Excellent Choice For Handling, Functionality, Space And Fuel Efficiency — I've had this car for 4 yrs now and I'm thoroughly impressed. I wish it was a bit faster but compared to other cars in its class, it has good performance. It is a very solid car so anyone with a typical Japanese car who hits it will suffer much more damage than the Skoda. It is very fuel efficient as long as you aren't driving hard (which I used to do most of the time). As for the handling, it allows me to corner harder with less braking than most other cars in its class. I love it.

Pros: Weight helps it sit down well on the road, excellent handling, good fuel efficiency, lots of trunk space, 16" alloy wheels standard.

Cons: No VVTi or similar technology; 1600cc engine; 100BHP

Great Perfomance! — If you are going to choose it, buy the 4x4 turbo 2000 edition, it's brilliant!

Pros: Safe. Grand space

Cons: Nothing really
