Laguna - Better Than Expected — Lots of features for your money, nice diesel engine with plenty of power and excellent cruising comfort. 15-18 km/L of fuel average being a big heavy car thats pretty good. Owned this since 2006 and have had no serious problems at all. driving around 30000 km/year. A real family car, spacious and safe.

Pros: Comfortable, safe, economic, solid

Cons: resale price going down

Ok For The Price —

Bought it as my choice :P instead of a Mazda 6, and it HAD to have a rear spoiler and the alloy wheels :P. I don't actually drive it (have done but on the whole :P) weve had it for 2 years and bought it as a basic mode of transport. I think that our 1.8l engine is a little weak, you have to remember that this car is very heavy due to the 5 star safety rating, this makes it a bit slow off the line. The styling of the car isn't all that bad, I sort of like the folds on the bonnet and the front grill, some parts are a bit too sharp tho, the doors and rear design especially. I think that i could do without all the black trim on the doors and bumpers cos it makes it look like the average car, and not stand out much. he interior is nice, I like the way the 'foldy hatch' opens to reveal the radio and CD player, I also like the steering wheel, its small for the size of the car, but this makes it easier to handle in tricky situations (skidding it is easier to correct because you can turn the wheel quicker on a smaller axis). There's plenty of room inside to keep the average items, sunglasses, duster, drivers licence etc. The reliability of our car is not too bad, the tyres have warn down after about 30,000 miles, dunno if this is good or bad, but i think that the weight of the car might have contributed to it. The brakes have lasted about 30,000 miles too. There is however a rattling sound in the rear axle, we've been told that this is because the rubber dampers have warn down, and it is a big job to fix because the whole rear end has to be took apart for a few small rubber dampers =/. The engine seems to be running ok, no problems with that. I do however have a problem with these 'Renault sensors' on the wheels and tyres, they don't work. We have asked mechanics about them, but they say most of them are faulty. I've been told that it is a consistent car, and reaches high speed with ease. The handling can be sluggish, depending on how hard you push it, at slow speeds it feels very big, but at motorway speeds it feels quite nimble. The fuel consumption is average and is about 40mpg at best, 25mpg at worst. Overall it has been a good car, with not too many problems, and I think that it still has a few years left in it before we decide to replace it, My dad has one regret tho, that he didn't buy the 2.0l version xD

Pros: Reliable, good fuel economy, high safety rating, nice interior, comfy on long journeys,

Cons: Weight, preformance, styling to a certain extent, no ipod connection

Keeps Breaking Down, Very Expensive Parts — Luxury big car for it's price, fair performance, very very good on safety but keeps breaking down and is very expensive to fix.

Pros: First 5 star front impact crush test car of the world.

Cons: Bad reliability.
