French Frolics — Small hatches are often a thing done best by Renault and the clio is no exception. The engine is the k4J model which is the fastest 1.4 NA in England to my knowledge having 120bhp. Handling is extencive and custom work by Gibspeed (my company) by using origional ideas to produce a car that handles like no over front wheel drive with a light back end. This includes welded subframe and custom wishbones. The car usually gets a mpg figure around 60mpg using its power efficiently and has a power to weight ratio of 110 bhp as the chassis has been lightened like the clio cups. The only problem is it brakes down all at once costing me usually around 300 squids and then is fine for another 5000 miles!

Pros: Handling, power, efficiency, looks, safety

Cons: Reliability

Renault Clio — Love that its only £35 tax per year and does 60 mpg, hate that the bonnet popped on me whilst driving down the lancs at 70 mph.

Cons: acceleration, steering

Awesome Hot Hatch — Stunning metallic blue paintwork with anthracite cup wheels to complement the look. Superb seats covered in leather and alacantra hold you snuggly in the corners when you are in sports mode. With the optional cup suspension fitted it holds the road like a track car and surprises a few drivers of allegedly faster cars and quite often shows them up and leaves them trailing far behind. It has a 0-60 time of 7 seconds and tops out at 140mph. The Clio 182 has got to be one of the best all round hot hatches on the road and it makes driving a pleasure every time I go out in it.

Pros: Looks, handling, performance.

Cons: No faults I can think of!!

Nippy Small Car — bought a Clio because our last car was a Clio and was very reliable and nice to drive. No worries with this one either. Have been shafted by the Renault dealers on services, but other than that has never broken down in 4 years of running it, starts foirst time ebery time. The Dynamique has some nice extras too, automatic wipers and headlights, plus stiffer suspension and firmer seats. Takes corners well. With it being a 1.2 it runs out of stram at 75-80, bgut doesn't do to bad up until then.

Pros: cheap, reliable, nippy

Cons: small, only 1.2

Clio 182 With Cup Packs — 2l 16v Clio producing 182 bhp and with the same power-to-weight ratio as a porche boxster. It does 0-60 in 6.9 seconds with a top speed of 140mph. Inside, the trim is half leather.

Pros: Fast, excellent handling, cheap

Cons: large steering wheel, poor build quality

Nice Solid And Driveable-theres A Model For Every Type Of Customer. — Sure Id love to say that Ive driven a clio 182 cup or a mental clio V6 but Ive never driven either.I actually learnt to drive in a clio 1.2 then in a clio 1.5 DCi.Lol dont diss either though. The 1.2 petrol clio was great to learn in if a bit too slow for my liking but for the city its fine.I preffered learning in the diesel believe it or not.Modern diesels are so much quicker then the diesels of old and the 1.5 dci motor in the clio pulls strongly whilst bieng very economical. The handling is pleasent with a slight bit of safe understeer at higher speeds-typical of front wheel drive cars of new.The clutch in the dci is meatier but this adds to the feeling of control. This renault feels like a larger car then what it actually is and the solid feel of the controls is great for both learner drivers and maturer drivers.Safe aswell. It deserves it popularity.

Pros: build quality,solid controls,economical,pulls well,stall proof,so easy to drive.

Cons: sounds just like a van,not the coolest car(unless its a sporty one-clio V6 anyone?)
