Am: Cheap, But Powerful — This 4 cylinder engine is much more powerful than any V6 I've ever driven. Needs very little maintence in its first years - just the basics (oil changes, air filter, etc). Updated from the 1994 version: wipers have more speeds, including a variable and the possibility of running once without turning them on and power windows. Pros: powerful Cons: no power seats |

Pontiac Grandam — Amazing torque...but not too powerful for the front wheel drive system. Interior is lacking compaired to most modern cars. So beautiful in the corners though, even when the back wheels slip out from behind you. All it takes is a little skill and a flick of the wrist to bring you back from the pearly gates. Pros: Torque...steering...body stlying Cons: Interior...radio...carpet...headlamps...backseats... |

Pontiac Grand Am Se — The Grand Am is perfect as a first car for a teenager. It runs great and is reliable. Doesn't cost too much for a first car and handles decently well. Its nothing too fast or too slow, its moderate. Brakes are a bit weak but is easy to get use to. The car isn't ugly in my opinion but also isn't a car to show off. The inside of the car is comfortable, the stereo is tilted to face the driver which is neat. The stereo system is pretty good also. The only thing I don't like about the car is the suspension. The suspension is quite loose, more in the back than the front, so the car leans a lot around corners. Overall, I think the Grand Am is the perfect car for a daily driver. Pros: Good Stereo System, reliable, spacious interior, comfortable to drive. Cons: Weak suspension |

Good Choice For My First Car. — I've had the car for almost 2 1/2 years now and the only trouble I've had is the turn-signal relay burning out. It's got almost 73000 miles on it now and still no troubles. Overall, a very good car. Pros: Nice design, very reliable Cons: Not the best gas mileage 21/28 |

I Own This Car And Have Transmission Problems At Only 44,000 Miles! — Overall, I love Pontiacs, and normally would have sworn by them. I previously owned 2 Pontiacs (one '97 Grand Am GT and one 2004 Pontiac Sunfire GT. However, the Grand AM SE absolutely DOES NOT compare to my others! I have had it for almost 2 months, bought it used with 41,000 miles on it- I've had it about 2 months. I am by NO means a "speed demon", I treat my vehicles well & service them on a regular basis. I just changed the Transmission fluid hoping it would help my issues with the car. Unfortunately, the transmission is sticking, revving at high speeds and slipping constantly. The repair shop cannot diagnose the problem to fix since there are no light-ups on the dash stating that anything is working improperly. I hate the thought of having to put $3,000.00 into a car to replace the transmission on a car I just bought. At this point, I would NEVER recommend a Pontiac again to anyone that I care about. I don't know what happened in the design of the car- but whatever it is- they should all be pulled off the road and consumers given a REFUND!!! Owner for 0 years, 2 months Miles Driven per Year:10,800 Pros: Beautiful car!! Roomy and comfortable! Great MSRP! Cons: TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS, computer problems, electrical problems. |

It Is Fun To Drive — It has a lot of work done to it. Needs to a bit faster but it handles nice. Interior is bubbly and is colored as the same as the exterior Pros: It handles good in the winter time and fun to drive Cons: Not much can be done for after market stuff. Also rack and pinion gets loose and thereis play in it. |
