Pontiac Grand Am Se — The Grand Am is perfect as a first car for a teenager. It runs great and is reliable. Doesn't cost too much for a first car and handles decently well. Its nothing too fast or too slow, its moderate. Brakes are a bit weak but is easy to get use to. The car isn't ugly in my opinion but also isn't a car to show off. The inside of the car is comfortable, the stereo is tilted to face the driver which is neat. The stereo system is pretty good also. The only thing I don't like about the car is the suspension. The suspension is quite loose, more in the back than the front, so the car leans a lot around corners. Overall, I think the Grand Am is the perfect car for a daily driver.

Pros: Good Stereo System, reliable, spacious interior, comfortable to drive.

Cons: Weak suspension

2004 Grand Am Gt Coupe - Long Live Beauty — Great lines unlike the new G6 replacement, good build quality and the GT package body rocks.

Good Choice For My First Car. — I've had the car for almost 2 1/2 years now and the only trouble I've had is the turn-signal relay burning out. It's got almost 73000 miles on it now and still no troubles. Overall, a very good car.

Pros: Nice design, very reliable

Cons: Not the best gas mileage 21/28

I Own This Car And Have Transmission Problems At Only 44,000 Miles! — Overall, I love Pontiacs, and normally would have sworn by them. I previously owned 2 Pontiacs (one '97 Grand Am GT and one 2004 Pontiac Sunfire GT. However, the Grand AM SE absolutely DOES NOT compare to my others! I have had it for almost 2 months, bought it used with 41,000 miles on it- I've had it about 2 months. I am by NO means a "speed demon", I treat my vehicles well & service them on a regular basis. I just changed the Transmission fluid hoping it would help my issues with the car. Unfortunately, the transmission is sticking, revving at high speeds and slipping constantly. The repair shop cannot diagnose the problem to fix since there are no light-ups on the dash stating that anything is working improperly. I hate the thought of having to put $3,000.00 into a car to replace the transmission on a car I just bought. At this point, I would NEVER recommend a Pontiac again to anyone that I care about. I don't know what happened in the design of the car- but whatever it is- they should all be pulled off the road and consumers given a REFUND!!!

Owner for 0 years, 2 months

Miles Driven per Year:10,800

Pros: Beautiful car!! Roomy and comfortable! Great MSRP!

Cons: TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS, computer problems, electrical problems.

Semi-legit For A Car. — Not much of a car guy but my Grand Am GT did work for me. Drove smooth and had pretty good handeling. The quad exhaust was legit. Over all pretty cool.

Pros: MPG was legit, stereo system, roomy V6.

Cons: It's not a Jeep, white

Crappy Car — Slow and uncomfortable...another domestic failure...underpowered engine fails to give the required power...no wonder more and more americans are buying imports

Pros: Easy to drive
+ Automatic-transmission operation
+ Quietness
+ Performance of GT editions
+ Four-cylinder fuel economy

Cons: Final year for this model
- Refinement
- Ride comfort of GT editions
- Resale value of SE models

It Is Fun To Drive — It has a lot of work done to it. Needs to a bit faster but it handles nice. Interior is bubbly and is colored as the same as the exterior

Pros: It handles good in the winter time and fun to drive

Cons: Not much can be done for after market stuff.  Also rack and pinion gets loose and thereis play in it.

Pretty Good Car — For a first real new car it wasn't bad. The performance is good, but it does have a few problems when you get up in miles. Overall it has been a good car

Pros: Good looks, gas mileage, power

Great Starter Car — This is my very first car which I plan to keep for as long as possible, and "upgrade" it be more personal or mine. I use this car to get to school, work, and for just driving around. Great brand, and just overall a great vehicle.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Very comfortable sized car, Very fun to drive around.

Cons: My 2004 Grand Am GT has parts where it could be fixed up, Has around 177,00 miles (less than 177,000 but it's close to 177,000).

Great Value With Pep To Spare — The car delivers power at low and high speed while maintaining strong fuel economy (~30 mpg). I always felt safe as the power steering and brakes are quite responsive. The car required only basic maintenance and breaks the American auto stereotype of expensive to maintain.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Great gas mileage, easy to maintain, doesn't break down. Lot's of power for a 10 year old fuel sipper.

Cons: Back seats don't fold down, so it was tough to transport my snowboarding gear.
