You've Got To Drive It To Believe... Zoom Zoom Zoom! — Many cars have more HP, but few cars really compare, None that are in it's price range.

Pros: The sound, the ride, the control, the way it drives and responds, the interior, the way it looks, cheap insurance, cheap maintenance.

Cons: Low HP, low gas mileage.

This Car Is Awesome — I have owned this car for 1 year so far. Other that the poor fuel consumption, I cant think of any other con. The reliability is second to none and as Japanese vehicles they are built to last. The suicide doors are a great design and a large adult fits in the rear quite comfortably.

Pros: looks, handling, goes like stink

Cons: fuel consumption

Best Car I've Owned. —

My previous car was a souped up Subaru WRX. That car was way faster than my RX-8, did not burn oil and got slightly better fuel economy. Still, I would not trade my 8 for another Rex. This car is superior in every area except speed and cargo area. Unlike the Rex, road noise stays out of the cabin. It feels more stable at speed; the steering feel is better; and the styling is way more handsome. With the Rex, only kid racers and those on the import tuner scene shoed any interest in the car. The 8 draws everyone in everywhere I go. Not bad for a car that's been in production for four years already. Plus, four years in, it has retained over 67% of its initial value. All that, plus four adults fit comfortably. On top of that, many insurance companies rate it as a sedan and not a coupe, which means lower insurance rates. Thank God for those suicide doors in the back. On the other hand, it gets worse fuel economy than a V8 Chevrolet Corvette. It's pretty bad when a car with an engine that displaces a mere 1.3 liters and puts out relatively weak torque numbers gets 23% less fuel economy than a 6.1 liter V8. On top of that, it goes through synthetic oil like Lindsay Lohan goes through a bottle of Crystal. Its the kind of car that gives tree huggers and Al Gore the heebie jeebies. All in all, a great car that looks as great as it feels.

Pros: Awesome looks, fits four adults comfortably, retains value pretty well.

Cons: Burns oil like it's going out of style, mediocre fuel economy.

An Enthusiat's Car. — The Mazda RX-8 is a drive'rs car. Even though it has "four" doors and four seats, it is not very comfortable in the back for a grown up. It is a great Sunday driver. It's gas mileage is terrible, but the sound of the rotary at 8500 RPM is something to behold.

Pros: Great handling, and awsome looks.

Cons: The MPG is the same as a Hummer.

Cool Looking, Relatively Quick, And Fun To Drive Car. —

Test drove this car before buying my G35. This car is very fun to drive. The throttle and gearbox is very responsive. The brakes can stop the car on a dime. High speed cornering is not an issue. No noticeable over-steer and under-steer problems (the salesman was in the car though). Acceleration is not excited but quick. Since it is a rotatory engine, you don't hear the music from the engine (part of the excitement) when you accelerate. This car will bring you from 0 to 60mph in less than 6 seconds without a sweat but you will not notice it until you look down at the speedometer. Same problem when you hit the 9000RPM red line. That's probably why they installed the annoying warning beep when you are approaching the red line. The rear doors makes it very easy to access the rear seats. The satellite navigation system seems easy to use. Trunk space is very limited. My wife also noticed the heat coming through the firewall into the foot well of the front passenger seat. There is also a hump in that same foot well which makes my wife very uncomfortable to sit. She is only around 5ft tall so I can't imagine what a full size adult might feel in that seat.

Pros: Great handling, quick, responsive gearbox, excellent brakes, easy access rear doors, good styling, and light weight

Cons: Small trunk space,  only fits 4 people, heat pass through the firewall, hump in the foot well

Rotary — It lacks in the acceleration department, but it really makes up for it in handling. I wish I had this car in the 6-speed manual, but I'm still fine with the 4-speed auto.

Pros: Handling, looks, rotary

Cons: Gas mileage, lack of torque, lack of respect from most drivers

This Car Fit Me Like A Glove — My buddy bought this car new in '04. We replaced all the suspension componets and beefed them up. We raced it only a handfull of times during the '04 season; and while we were out classed by the STis we ran against, the driver still did very well... ;-)

Pros: Handled great, class winner for its time, clutch always felt perfect

Cons: Gas guzzler, burns oil, typical for rotary
