2004 Kia Sedona Trims and Specs

Aside from a new front grille, the 2004 Kia Sedona LX receives few updates this year. The major addition is a new optional DVD player for the rear two rows. The roomy minivan seats seven in three rows of seats. The rear rows move back and forth and can be taken out, but do not fold flat. Cargo capacity expands from 21 cubic feet to 128. Ten cupholders, and front and overhead storage consoles offer convenience. A roof rack is optional on the 2004 Sedona LX. Under the hood is a 195-hp, 3.5-liter DOHC V6 and 5-speed automatic that can tow up to 3500 pounds.

Standard on the Sedona LX are power features, cruise control, a tachometer, intermittent front and rear wipers, a CD player, privacy glass, and dual front airbags. No side impact bags are offered and ABS brakes are only optional. The driver's side sliding door is manually operated only. Options include a trailer hitch and rear spoiler. Like most minivans, gas mileage is nothing to write home about, at around 16/22 mpg. The interior room, seat comfort, and high safety ratings earn top marks from drivers of the 2004 Kia Sedona LX. A nagging problem is the difficulty in removing the second and third row seats.

The 2004 Kia Sedona EX gets standard 15-inch alloy wheels this year, but otherwise remains unchanged. Leather seats will cost you extra, as will a new DVD system. A sunroof is available only on the EX. Other options include a rear spoiler and trailer hitch, for up to 3500 pounds of towing capacity. Owners appreciate all the standard equipment at an affordable price, and they praise the interior room, smooth ride, and solid feel to the minivan. Complaints mention an uncomfortable driver's seat, poor fuel economy, and limited cargo area with all the seats up.
