£35 A Year Road Tax, 60mpg! Seriously Cheap To Run!!! — 2004 Fiat Punto Active Multijet 1.3 Diesel Not the quickest car out there, but I do a lot of miles a year and this is seriously cheap to run. Fill the tank up for £45 and can get up to 650 miles out of it! My car basically pays for itself :-)

Pros: Cheap to run, highly efficient, good top end torque

Cons: Turbo lag below 2k, not very fast or good handling

Heavy, Slow Accelerating, Handles Well, And Solid. — The overall size of the car inside is a lot better than it's competitors, the looks are good, however falls short on the performance front. If you're looking for a car to trundle around in, that looks good, hold lots of things and gives a smooth ride, then this is ideal, but if you're looking for extra bursts of speed in this size bracket, this is not for you.

Pros: Looks, (inside and out), steering, room inside car, and toughness

Cons: Slow speed and slow accelerating.

Another Lowest Bidder Affair — Nice looks but no power and bits keep falling off! Handles quite nicely though

Pros: Cheap to buy/insure, good looking

Cons: Poor build quality, you could walk there quicker
