2004 Cadillac DeVille DTS Sedan FWDReview

Good For Cadillac Lovers, Not For Anyone Else — First off this car is a whale and its noticable. Lane changes must be done with great care as this car's girth creates massive blind spots. The same applies when backing out and parking in tight spaces. The engine, Northstar V8, has plenty of power to propel this mastodon quickly enough, but of course fuel economy is not this car's strong suit. Passenger and luggage space are however as the trunk can best be described as cavernous and the seats are comfortable. This car also has amenities galore though the layout is not always logical. All in all this car is best suited for long distance cruising but don't expect a nimble performance sedan.

Pros: Huge trunk, huge interior space, reliable

Cons: Petrol thirsty, unwieldly in tight spaces, dated styling

Classic Car Of Year — Love everything about it, the engine, leather seats, power all around, the trunk space, the ride, heated seats, the looks of it, also the color scheme goes very well the interior color, hard to find these classics with low miles

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Great american classic

Cons: Gas consumption

Overall Great Road Vehicle For Long Trips. Comfrotable, And Stylish With Nice Ammenties — Maintenance costs on Cadillac is high. Everything is expensive to repair and some parts reliability below par. Last of the big luxury sedans before downsizing began. You'd have to get a Ford F-150 or Chevy Suburban to get this much interior space in a car now.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: luxurious and stylish sedan.  DTS trim with center console and gear shift knob give the feel of large sports car with 300hp Northstar.  Silver / Black combination very eye-catchy.

Cons: maintenance costs;  mileage

Smooth, Sleek Luxury Sedan With Power To Spare. — This is my 3rd Cadillac and it has not disappointed. The power and handling are impressive for a car or this size and weight class. I think most people who are commenting on the "size" of this car must be a bit younger and did not grow up driving large vehicles. Lets just say that this is one of the last truly full size luxury sedans out there and does exactly what it was meant to do... The overall handling and performance is more than adequate. The Northstar engine is very fast off the mark considering the weight it has to move and the braking is excellent assuming you do your maintenance. (don't skimp and buy the cheep brake pads...remember you're stopping over 4,000lbs!) The exterior/interior styling is what you expect from Cadillac and everything is laid out with the driver in mind. The ride is smooth and quiet. I especially appreciate the heated and cooled seats as I live in a northern climate ans have a dark gray interior. Overall a great car, excellent safety features, drives and handles nicely and looks good too!

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Large seating capacity and cargo area, comfortable ride, LED tail lights and powerful engine.

Cons: Repairs can be expensive and I noticed a significant increase in my insurance cost on this vehicle.
