Quick When You Need To Be Somewhere And Head Turner — Response is a bit sluggish when in drive, but its quick off the mark if you drop it in to sport or use the manual option on the auto gearbox. Handling is good, just enough feedback on the steering, plenty of grip and minimal body roll. Although M sport suspension can be a bit bumpy on local roads. Build quality is as would be expected from the Germans, well built. I have the M sport version with comes with plenty of extras as standard including carbon fibre interior trim, full leather interior, electric memory seats and door mirrors, wiper rain sensors, on board computer, climate control, traction control, cruise control, M sport steering wheel, bodykit and trim, sports seats. M-sport body styling gives it a more sporty look with extended side skirts, front underspoiler, flaired wheel arches, 18inch M sport wheels and twin exhaust trim. It is definately a head turner. Only problem I found was that it drinks a lot of petrol when you drive a bit quicker than usual when in a hurry. Also service and maintenance can be a bit pricey if taken to the dealer.

Pros: Great build quality, plenty of power, good handling

Cons: guzzles petrol when i a hurry, stiff suspension means unconfortable ride on local roads, dealer service/maintenace expensive

325ci Msport 2004 — Heavy car with reasonable performance. The engine sings at 6000 rpm, auto box is sluggish to kickdown but works well in steptronic mode. Brakes are the worst point, fading after a few minutes of hard lane work. Ride is firm on all surfaces jarring on uneaven, tramlines badly and feels skittish in the wet. On a smooth 'ish dry winding road it is fantastic, loves sweeping bends, hates slow hard in, hard out corners. Plenty of rear leg room although getting in and out is a chore. Big doors make awkward exits from car parks. If you want a spacious family car buy a Galaxy. If you want a performance coupe get a Bimmer. Everyone will hate you, no one want's to let you out/past, who gives a ***k you're in the ultimate driving machine they have to use the family Focus.

Pros: Smooth 6, handling, fit and finish.

    Cons: Running costs

    Pros: Everything apart from....

    Cons: ...the thirst for fuel!!!

Love It. Excellent Quality, Handling, Power, And Superior Service From Bmw Dealer. — This is our first BMW. We couldn't afford a a new one so we bought a 2004 325i with 39,000 miles. It has the Premium and Sport packages along with the SMG Transmission. It's fun to drive in town, on the back roads, and the highway. The transmission is a blast. The only downer is I'm a big guy and it's a little difficult getting in and out of the car. We had to have two ignition coils replaced and the service provided by the BMW dealer was excellent. No charge for the work and a new 325i loaner. I'm impressed with the car and will get another. The only problem is I don't like the styling on the new models.

Phenomenal — It's hard to find anything bad to say about this car. My father-in-law has owned it for years (each year he upgrades to the latest model). It's absolutely sturdy and reliable. I remember driving home in the middle of a blizzard with 10 feet of visibility. A foot of snow was falling, and I saw SUV's and Minivans spin out in front of me. In my 4DW 330 xi, I felt safe and secure. The exterior is predictably BMW - a beautiful sleek shape that never fails to impress. Inside the leather seats are comfortable and heated (the front seats are heated), although the back doesn't have as much legroom as I would like. The car drives quite smoothly. I would certainly lease this car myself if I had the means. In the meantime, I enjoy driving it when I have the chance.

Just An Awesome Car Bmw Built. — I'd recommend an E46 series BMW to anyone as a first timer to BMW or if you want to experience the thrill of driving. BMW created a sleeper monster with not only looks, but power, handling, and grace. Fantastic series BMW.

    Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Great gas mileage local and long distance.

Cons: Did not come equipped with the factory alarm!

Turns Heads. — Well with a muffler delete it sounds great. Not too loud but sounds well. Mods are widely and somewhat cheaply available, depending on what you plan on and what brand/quality you want. It's really easy to make this car look great cosmetically.

Pros: Lots of fun to drive.  Good fun in the snow but also very safe.

Cons: Not many.  It's a 5-speed manual...would love that extra gear for highway driving.

Great For Around Town, Road Trips, And Getting To The Ski Slopes — A great family car - road trips are great for a family of four. Travels great in the snow, getting to the ski hill is now problem, even on the deep powder days. Finally a versatile & sporty wagon -plenty of cargo space and looks great...

    Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Reliable, Fun to Drive, Great In the Snow

Cons: BMW MCU readers are less common than other makes

Vaderset Bimmer — I've owned alot of cars and this is, as a whole, my favorite. Everyone should own a BMW three series at least once, otherwise, what would you compare all the other cars against? They say its the ultimate driveing machine for a reason. The balance is unmatched.

    Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Its' a sports car in disguise, a wolf in sheeps clothing, you never fail to smile when driving her.

Cons: When the plastic gets old and dry and brittle it needs replacement, this includes big things like engine seals and such, so don't onwn one unless this work has already been done, or you are a gear head and own a metric tool set. It's actually an easy car to work on with a normal garage spread and some know how, so don't pay the dealer unless you have to. They will require your second son for an oil change.

Fantastic Daily Driver — This car handles great, it is a blast to drive. It looks like a four door M3, which wasn't offered in 2004. It has the M Wheels and Body Kit which were big pluses in the styling department. It is built solid and doesn't have any rattles or clanks common with a lot of cars. I think the quality of the build is the reason it hasn't had any major maintenance issues. Aside from oil changes, new tires, new brakes there hasn't been anything wrong with the car. The gas mileage ranges from about 17 with very spirited driving and about 29 on the highway. It has enough power to give you a rush while driving hard, but is just as comfortable putting around town. All in all it has been a phenomenal car. I would recommend it to anyone that wants a sporty but practical four door car. Long trips are fine with the extra space of the backseat and trunk, but fun enough to make a trip to the mountains for some tight twisty roads worth while.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: Great Handling, Exhaust Note, Transmission, Stereo

Cons: Rough ride on harsh roads
