Economic Factor Wins — manual car has good acceleration even when the horse power is not too big. gas mileage is great. Big sun roof. Great compact SUV with big cargo room. small torque make easy U turns. maintenance is pretty easy 6 years no major breakdowns.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Gas saver, big cargo room

Cons: appearance is a not very cute but OK

Good — holds lots of stuff. doesn't break down like american cars. handles decently for a steel box with wheels. way too slow for my tastes. four wheel drive a must have for snowy conditions, also makes empty parking lots in winter much more fun

Primary Use: Utility (towing boats, transporting cargo, etc.)

Pros: haul stuff

Cons: going fast

Subaru Forester — Performance – acceleration, Decent braking, excellent handling, very good, much improved over previous generation Build Quality – Very good, only needed minor repairs, some cheap pieces, some minor squeaks and rattles Appearance – Good looking car, don't love the grey bumpers Cost of Ownership – 25-26mpg, very good mileage from a brick shaped, AWD car. Fun Factor – is this car fun to drive? Yes, it is very fun to drive, and has a good ride which is a hard combination to get right. It's really fun in the snow with snow tires.

Pros: Gas mileage, traction, reliability, ride and handling

Cons: some cheap materials, not a lot of rear seat space

Subaru Forester — My newest car atm is a subaru which is good cos everyone loves a scooby, and its a 2litre turbo... however i dislike it because its a forester, and its not the best looking vehicle... and its just not the same as an imprezza saloon... And the engine keeps misfiring and the engine managment is messed up as a result and its loosing power... and its silver, it would look better in black or dark blue.

Pros: Fast, Safe, Cheap, Spacious, 4wd, Comfortable

Cons: Not very good looking, Slower than an imprezza sti, Uses fuel very fast

Love It — I got it to replace a gas guzzling truck. It drives well and handles great. Excellent on gas considering it's AWD. Good looking and comfortable. Pulls a small trailer so well I hardly notice it.

Pros: Ride and handling, fuel economy

Cons: It's not a truck but I can live with it.

Can Out-accelerate A Porsche Boxster And Carry A Full Drum Kit & P.a. System — it's the rare XT model they made for a couple of years before they realized the gearing was too short... does 0-60 in 5.3 seconds and the 1/4 mile in 13.8 seconds.... how many sports cars can do that.... plus, with aftermarket rims and tires, it handles just like a rally-car....

Pros: lots of power + light weight + all-wheel drive + stick = very very fast...
has lots & lots of space for goodies and junks...

Cons: lots of power = fun fun fun = 17 mpg

I Love My Forester — Comfortably tows a trailer. Comfortable on long trips. Nothing ever breaks. Decent gas mileage. Always starts right up. Count on replacing the Timing belt and front end gears when specified. Head gaskets seem to be a problem on a lot of these cars.

Primary Use: Utility (towing boats, transporting cargo, etc.)

Pros: Totally Reliable. Excellent in the snow.

Cons: Only complaint - The front windows have no frame and rely on the rubber weatherstripping to stop wind noise. I had it replaced during the first month but soon after it started making noise again and I have learned to live with it.

Great Awd For Every Situation — Reliable as hell, never needs repairs! Always starts, good fuel economy, good off-road with car-like performance on-road. Would suggest this AWD to anyone looking at a little 4X4. It tows a trailer well, goes though snow incredibly well and can be had with a 5 speed manual, which many others can't. With the 2.5L 4 cylinder, has just enough power to whatever you need with great fuel economy. Best of both worlds!

Pros: Reliable, fuel efficient, good performance

Cons: Not as well made as a german car, noisy inside at speed, rusts too easily.

Kimberely says:
It handles well, dependable, comfortable, cute, easy to do many repairs yourself, easy to find used parts. No embarrassing. Its got plenty of power to cruise up the mountains at 65, 75+ mph too. The best snow car Ive ever owned too.
