Good Little Run About. — Good on fuel, nice to drive and not too bad quality. It can be a big sluggish at times. Got a bargain for what it cost. Its quite fun to drive as the handling is not bad at all. Bad thing is that the stereo sounds crap.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Shiny!

Cons: Nothing

Bit Like The Lord Of The Rings.starts Well But Ultimatly A Waste Of Time And Money! —

This car gave me 2 year of worry free and very comfortable driving. The 1.6 engine was characteristically nipping and revy, giving great performance. All of the features and extras worked flawlessly and the only thing which required regular attention was the battery in the Central locking remote. The leather trim they put in is very hard wearing and I personally think that Rover made great strides on this face lift model. It passed all of its MOTs, nothing dropped off and contrary to popular belief the public humiliation of owning it was manageable through a combination of medication and Cognitive behaviour therapy. However, in May 2005 everything started to go wrong. In true Rover style the Cylinder Head ruptured, the idle throttle control literary burned out, the central locking motors and assembly started intermittently locking me in/out and immobilising the engine and the sunroof rattled. In no time at all, a car which had been successfully out performing and exceeding everyone’s expectations started on a slippery slope to obsolesce. Fortunately, and this is a good piece of advice for anyone with an MG or Rover, get Extended Warranty, obviously not from Rover but there are plenty of companies out there. Most things which fail on a Rover is covered by a warranty policy and providing you have not packed on the miles it will save you a fortune when it inevitably starts shuffling off the mortal coil. I endured this embarrassment for a further 8 months before trading in. Now, no tale of woe about a Rover car would be complete without mentioning the closure of the company which started it all. I would like to say how genuinely sorry I am that Rover/MG failed in the UK and all those hardworking people lost their jobs. It is a real crime that we did not support this British institution and although I have had a bad experience I would buy a Rover/MG again and occasionally toy with the idea of getting at ZT or TF. A little know fact about the ZT-T which I think could have had bearing on Rovers overall success what that it was the fastest Estate car in the world (at the time). Rover had independent test done but for some reason never effectively publicised this great piece of news.

Pros: Leather seats, great engine

Cons: Like domino's falling, the problems come

Not all units were carried over from the "bubble 200" range - the 1.4 litre 84BHP unit is new for the 25, the lower power output being achieved by a restricted throttle body. I'd recommend the 103BHP ... Read More
