Mg Zr 1.8 160 — Performance - acceleration is good but could be quicker. Braking - brakes not used often. Handling is great on fast corners. Build Quality - dents easily and has had a squeak in the boot which I think may be a twisted boot. Love the exterior looks although would have it lowered. Interior quite basic for a 53 reg but love the half leather seats. Costs - fuel costs me about £50 per week travelling around 25 miles a day. Official figures show that it does 36 mpg but don't think mine does that. No major costs on maintenance in the 4yrs I have it. straight through MOT 3 yrs running. Have heard the rumour about the head gasket going at about 60,000 miles and mine is at 57,000 miles so got that to look forward to. Fun Factor - Brilliant fun to drive especially leaving people behind at traffic lights :o)

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: I love my car so everything is awsome but mostly the 2 12 inch subs in the boot.

Cons: Fuel costs

Great Little Hot Hatch — 2L turbo diesel so its power tends to come in one lump like most turbo diesels handles really well saying that only done 45000 with just 2 previous owners so the body work & the interior is in relatively good nick, love getting out on the motorway so I can get my toe down a bit well in between the bloody roadworks that it

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: its mine nuff said

Cons: it dont run on fresh air

Quick — she's flat out, very good handling, been tuned a bit so goes better than standard, and sounds nicer, cant always rely on engine but when its good its good. you should all get one lol and tune em like me

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: quick

Cons: reliability

Cheap Thrills — Handles like a go-kart, grips like a vice, fantastic engine noise at high revs. Loads of fun. Great around town on short journeys and B roads but hopelessly under powered on the motorways. Costs hardly anything to drive but build quality is absolute pants. Rover certainly skimped when making these cars!

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Fun

Cons: Build quality

Mg Zr 1.8 — What can i say its an MG! everybody hates them but ive always have british leyland & not had a bad one yet! I looks good but if you can afford it go for the 1.8vvc engine. it makes a difference, the straght 1.8 is set up more like a 1.6 and needs a little poke.just gota wind her up a bit. you cant drive them hard the k-series engine wont take it shes a bit fragile.handling is good & i dont get bored driving it.

Pros: Looks

Cons: Look out for ones that have had engine abuse

Nippy Little Looker From An Old English Marque — Basically when MG/Rover was going down the pan they realised they needed to sell cars fast. Luckily they had a LOT of body shells left sitting around so out came the Rover 25 and the MG ZR. Both cars are basically the same except the MG version has uprated suspension and a slightly different set of bumpers. The car is a little basic inside...base models not even having electric windows...luckily I own the + model with e/w, e/s, e/m, PAS, ABS + EBD. Boot space is pretty good...this means though that ppl in the back seats need small legs. Nippy little 1.4 engine combined with a smooth gearbox and great suspension which, although a little hard, sticks the car to the road really well. Exhaust sounds sporty throughout the rev range and the car seems to pull well up to 5th. Once if 5th the acceleration drops off a bit, the top end speed isn't that amazing....but the car gets there quite quickly for it's displacement.

Pros: Nippy little 1.4 engine, 105PS
Sticks to the road like glue

Cons: It's a Rover 25 with delusions of grandeur.

Mg Zr 105- 160 Replica — Overall a good car that goes well for a 1400.

Pros: It looks sporty and grips the road well

Cons: Head Gasket goes on K-Series engines all the time!
