A Great Little Car For The Money, Very Fun To Drive, Very Stylish, But Not Without Its Flaws. —

Great styling inside and out. LOTS of content for a car of its price. was 16k new and came with a sunroof, power everything, cruise control, CD player and great factory speakers. everything seemed to be of really good quality construction. Despite its small size, room up front was really good and the hatchback design let it hold all of my music gear, and i have a lot. Factory sport seats were a great touch and very supportive. Drove 800 miles in 14 hours nearly non-stop, had hardly any complaints from my back and butt. Handling and braking, even being a base model and not the higher-performace GT, were excellent. Great backroad carver. Performance as far as power and speed were not so good. The 2.0L DOHC inline-4 got great gas mileage, but it could barely get out of its own way when it had to. Power just wasn't there. Due to its sporting nature, the ride was a little stiff. Older individuals or people who prefer a cushier ride might want to steer away from this vehicle as a daily driver. After 75,000 miles the car started developing some electrical problems. Driver's side window had a bad short in it. refused to roll up or down for the longest. Didn't have the money to take it to the dealer and get it fixed so it stayed that way until it just started working again one day. Problems persisted. Also, the blower switch for the fan had problems with the wiring. Wires must have been too small for the current being sent through it. i had to replace the entire switch unit due to it melting. Temporary fix only though, and a little expensive at that. Other than these electrical gremlins the car ran flawlessly. Good, solid vehicle, just watch the electicals when getting above 60k miles.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Sporty, agile and extremely fun to drive on curvy backroads and highways, great looks that always got stares whenever I went out, surprising room and cargo space, 30+mpg when driven lightly.

Cons: Dismal straight-line performance and passing power.  Watch for electrical glitches and bugs above 60-70k miles. People with bad backs beware--suspension is stiff.

2003 Tiburon Gt — Performance is lacking in the car. It's underpowered and front wheel drive. You gotta take it for what it is though. It can put you back in the seat and rips through the first 2 gears. It handles pretty damn good for a front wheel drive car. The build quality is eh. The clutch was a complete failure. The dual-mass flywheel fell apart after 45,000 miles which is no good. The rest of the car is fairly sturdy so far. The 6 speed manual is fun and kinda unique. It's definitely an eye catcher. You get looks everywhere you go. I have the Tuscani badges too and that throws some people. Overall it's a pretty bad ass car. You just gotta get a performance clutch to make it work the way it should.

Pros: 6 speed, leather recaros, great looks

Cons: under powered, front wheel drive, bad stock clutch

Worth Every Kuna I`ve Spent On It. — I like everything about this car. Acceleration, braking and handling are the best.I`ve never been to the mechanic. It`s worth every kuna (in Croatia) that I`ve spent on it.Probably the best thing is the engine sound.Like a thunderstorm. The body kit`s the best you can imagine. Like a fairy-tale.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: Acceleration, engine sound, ...

Cons: Small gasoline cargo capacity

Nice Car — Nice car, but I totally upgraded everything with KDM parts and some custom stuff to make it closer to what I wanted. A great buy for a sports car in comparison to the competetion (which was similar in quality and more money).

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Black coupe with limo tinted windows... need I say more

Cons: a few technical problems all fixed under warranty

Cons: crappy factory stereo

2003 Hyundai Tiburon Gt — The Tiburon GT is a great car for performance and exceleration. I bought the car because i wanted a car that could get me good fuel mileage (around 22-24 average) and had a little get up and go juice when i wanted it. I love the sporty look of the car and it has nice leather interior. It has great acceleration for the engine size, decent braking ability, and good handing around corners. I haven't had to fix anything other than a head light since i bought the car. The car is alot of fun to drive. My only complant would be that i am 6'3" and there is not a whole lot of room in the car. That and the back seat really has no function other than storage.

Pros: Good compromise between fuel and fun, Handles well

Cons: Not a lot of space for big people, Back seat non functional

Black Beauty — The exterior styling; which Pininfarina helped on was a welcome change to the Tiburon line. I was not a fan of the previous generations and there bulbous fenders, but 2003 on are in my opinion some of the sexiest cars on the road. The 2.7 litre V6 is very torquey, giving you a huge advantage over all those pesky Hondas and Acuras running around. The engine also responds well to modifications with mods such as my AEM cold air intake giving me a significant torque increase.

Pros: Sexy Exterior Styling, Great Performance for the Money

Cons: Stigma Attached to the Hyundai Name
