Always Will Be My First Car —

it has a 1.1 liter engine which makes 9.8 kg-m of torque, this does not perform like the super-mini hatch backs of today (read swift, jazz and i20) but back in those days where the only competition was wagon-R, indica and matiz t, this car ruled the segment.. it had been the bestseller from 1998 to 2009 (11 years straight) having said this lets get to the main details.. 1) Perfomance- is has a great performance for a 11 year old engine, which was slightly tweaked around 2006-07, it got an upgraded ECU, bigger valve design for better combustion and breathing and altered second and third ratios for optimum bottom end performance in city limits which has increased its performance considerably, it has a very peppy engine which makes it easy and fun to drive and because of its very thin(well designed) A-pillars and C pillars the visibility from the cockpit is very good and this helps a lot during parallel parking.. 2) build quality- the build quality neither impresses you and is not disappointing either, it does not have the build quality of a VW polo but plastics does not seem outright cheap like in a wagon-R or Alto, the ergonomics are well thought of and ingress and egress is a breeze (all thanks to that tall boy design of theirs) .The vehicle is stable to the most part but tends to roll a lot during hard cornering and the super light steering does ont help at high speeds either. 3)Appearance- looks cute(any info here would be redundant) 4) Cost of owning- Hyundai spares are costly and so is their service. their service quality is next only to Toyota, the car becomes very expensive to maintain once it crosses the 5 year line and the mileage also drops drastically with it. 5) Fun Factor- this car is not meant for track racing "period"

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: its a great machine to own and drive

Cons: very soft suspension setup, very good for bad roads but has a lot of body roll

2003 Hyundai SantroReview

Vfm — nimble in traffic, poor pedal position, easy ingress and egress, the engine is really a rev happy one, but the gear box is very close especially the first but sorted out one for the city's stop go traffic. Mileage is average when compared to the competition but fun to drive too

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Zippy

Cons: Build quality
