Very Good Car, All Wrapped Up Into One Beautiful Box. — Although I was dissapointed because this car doesn't have many fancy features like my other cars, such as auto lights, etc, I do really like it. It is a nice ride, good gas mileage, and great acceleration from a four cylinder. I also LOVE the look.

Pros: Nice car overall

Cons: Not many features.

Nothing Hurts This Car — Great for pretty much anything, except high speeds. Easily cleaned (the inside is rubber) and mine switches automatically into AWD. Brilliant handling, comfortable, generous amount of space.

Pros: -washable interior
-both the back seats can be taken out (record amount packed in the back: 2 mountain bikes, three coolers, a tent, four camp chairs, clothes for two people for a week and a half)
-Relatively good gas milage
-Comforatable (I've slept in it more than once)
-excellent flat-ground turning radius
-Well-thought out wheel base

Cons: -Bad acceleration (0-60 in 17.1 seconds)
-Higher center of gravity (harder to turn when going fast down a curvy road)

A- Freakin'- Mazing Car! — Really an amazing car! My parent's bought me a used one and I absolutely love my car! He looks small on the outside, but that masks the MASSIVE interior! the front and rear seats fold down into two beds, and the rear seats can be placed against either side of the car for even MORE storage! This car is perfect for students going away to college or anyone who need a car that can haul a lot of stuff! Downsides to the Element that I have is that the gas mileage sucks for city driving. The Element is much better suited for highway driving, not stop and go traffic. The sunroof is also placed awkwardly in the back of the car and is a manual pop open window, as are the two side windows. Overall, I plan on buying another Element when this one dies. I love the way Honda makes cars, and I have no intention of straying.

Pros: Massive amounts of space, all weather interior, easy to clean, cheap to fill up for an SUV, great for long trips

Cons: Gas mileage for the city sucks, kinda hard to see the other cars beside you, sun roof is in an awkward place, side windows aren't automatics

Terrible As An Every Day Driver, Good At Everything Else —

It would tear me to pieces for days if i had to decide whether or not to buy one of these. I test drove one from 2003 with only 40k miles on it, which for a Honda means that it still has years of life left on it. First walking around the car and looking at all its features, its definitely a cool car and theres no doubt about. Its geared towards young males in college who are the adventurist type, and the versatility of the vehicle is amazing, from seat configurations and making use of space properly to the amount of kit you get with the car standard. How the car looks inside and out is nothing short of perfect for the market that they designed this for, but there's only one problem, how it drives. Sadly, its not good. The steering was very heavy, the driving position was awkward, and the window sill was much too high, making me feel enclosed. I'm not short, at 5'8" i think I'm average height, but I felt like I could not get comfortably situated in the car. Acceleration is just not there, the engine is not perky enough and i hate to think of what noise it would make towing something behind you. The brakes might as well be snapple caps because they're just not big enough. This car is heavy, and I'd feel much more comfortable with a bigger break set-up. The road noise is low enough, and everything else about the drive is fine. I was easily able to adjust the radio and climate control without any training or manuals, and even though my driving position was a little skewed, the seats were still noticeably comfortable. Would I buy one? yes, but not as an everyday car, because i just wouldn't be able to bear it. As a second utility vehicle for going on camping trips, hauling stuff home from home depot, definitely. Honda gets an A+ for execution and making a car that can handle anything, now just make the drive lively enough to not make me feel as bored as i get mowing the lawn.

Pros: versatility, durable interior, very low split folding gate rocks for loading cargo and sitting down.

Cons: Acceleration, braking, steering, body roll

Bring Back The Element! — I am one of the original owners of an Element (2003)-mine just turned 185,000 and is going strong. This car has been my workhorse, traveling the country with my dogs. I am looking for another when I'm ready to replace Ellie. Just to update, at 180,000 miles, had a problem with shifting. Was just a spring that broke in the clutch, but decided to go ahead and replace the entire clutch, and with some new sparkplugs, she drives like a new car! Another 180,000 miles? Honda, bring back the Element, please!

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: I love my Ellie!

Cons: No longer in production!

"the Most Magical Car Ever" — If I was stranded on a desert island with only 1 car for the rest of my life, it would be a Honda Element. You can't beat it's versatility or the over all quality of the Honda Element. They are a great value.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Versatility

Cons: None

Honda Element Ex 2003 — Still love my Honda Element. It had one problem last year when a couple fan fuses? that cooled the engine caused the engine to overhead. Thankfully I realized what was happening and turned off the a/c. Turned on the heater and I was right by the dealership. $200+ bucks. Love the room in the car. It's a solid comfortable and safe car. Gas mileage is average around 20 mph The windshield has been the greatest problem. It's been changed 4xs. There was a lawsuit against Honda so now I have a windshield that doesn't break easily from rocks on the freeway. It does whistle and it's noisy in the car when on the freeway.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Roomy, comfortable

Cons: Windshields are weak, wind noise on the freeway
