Reliable And Inexpensive, But Not Flashy. — Extremely reliable and normal replacement parts like tires, plugs, brake pads and filters are inexpensive. Never had any major issues or breakdowns with this car. Always worked, everyday. Gas mileage pretty good. Style and overall engine performance are lacking, but for the low price the reliability is worth it.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Cost to operate very low.
Reliable everyday car.

Cons: Style outdated and underemphasized.
Acceleration and handling on the low end.

Foxy Ford Focus — Great Starter car for students or someone who wants to watch their fuel economy. Great gas Mileage. As the car gets a little older you have to be sure to do regular maintenance to be sure that it will not break down on you.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: It gets me from point A to B...Great gas mileage!!!

Cons: It does the Harlem Shake every time I stop at a light

Pretty Decent For A First Car. — I hate the look of it, but the seating and cargo capacity is very nice for loading things and people into it! Love the gas mileage I get, and I love the handling. It's a little loud but all things considered it's a pretty comfortable ride!

Pros: Great gas mileage, very low price

Cons: Goofy-looking for a young college kid.

Shes A Keeper — Lets see, the 2.0L Zetec is a fuel efficient engine that really can crank out the RPM's. I get about 26 MPG City and 34-36 Highway and really can't bad talk the car, she takes a beating and keeps the heating. I would have to say that this is a family car, if it was an automatic, but since it is a stick shes just asking to be beat around. This winter will certainly be fun. Haven't had any major issues other than the lock cylinder going out on me but I hear thats a common problem with these little buggers. Over all shes another strong point of why I LOVE Ford now.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Performance, Handling, and Maneuverability all in one.

Cons: Lock Cylinder Issues

Dependable ,economical, — Great for service use in city driving.I used it for service calls in down -town daily also 2k trips to the states and back six times per year it never broke down.I did run off the road ,on hwy# 81 in NY on a snowy January night.I got a ticket for speeding by state police as i was in the median in 2' of snow.I was winched out and on the road again ,without hurt to the 2 passengers or myself all in 1 hour or so .Later in the summer I noticed that the winching out had pulled the timing cover against the pulley and it scored it as i had my engine running the whole time to keep warm till help arrived. The scoring was not deep as the winching was gentle at an angle and the snow got heaped up under there.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: low maintenance cost, strong -withstands rough roads

Cons: not enough waterproofing on electrical

Great Winter-beater. — Performance - could be better if the chassis was lighter Build Quality - this car is very well built, very few things to ever worry about when owning one Appearance - it definitely has a place in the design aspect of hatchback; nothing extraordinary but not ugly either Cost - fair cheap to maintain Fun - it has some fun elements when investing into modifications

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: It handles very well with a decent size 4 cylinder engine.

Cons: The overall weight of the car is a bit much and the zetec engine is an underachiever.

Reliable And Economic First Car! — I love this little Ford Focus! It's a great car, especially for someone who's looking to get good gas mileage and have a reliable piece of metal. Smooth ride and has been a fun car to drive. The manual transmission and sunroof make the car seem sporty!

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Comfortable front and back seats with plenty of leg room for a small car. Gets great gas mileage and has had only minor work needed. Sunroof is an awesome perk despite the car being fairly basic. Handles great and has a smooth ride.

Cons: Road noise could be quieter. Has had problems with coil springs- which is typical for Fords.

Best Compact Car Of Its Time — The 1.6 engine feels slow. The estate has a sizeable boot. Watch out for rust as it's a major problem. Very good suspension, fun to drive and comfortable at the same time. Rear suspension isn't as durable as in some cars. Still looks good.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: handling, good looks

Cons: rust

Sucks But Will Get You Where You Need To Go — Bought this car in 2003 and still dont know why i bought it. It runs good, but no power but what to expect of a FORD. Its lasted a long time. current mileage is at 98K so will run for a long time if you are looking for a car to just drive.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: reliable

Cons: Its a FORD
