Dodge Neon — It Sucks. never ever get one. The transmission blew once and is on its way out again. I've had to replace belts, gages, timers, brakes, bearings, and the list goes on... It is possible the worst car ever conceived by man. I would rather ride horse and buggy. I wouldn't even recommend it to someone I hated.

Pros: Nothing

Cons: Everything

Fun To Drive And An Excellent Overall Sport-compact Car. — I've had this car since 2005 and I have loved it since. I love driving it and being in it. It has a powerful enough engine to have fun in. The pull on the E-brake is solid for going around corners. Aside from burning my brakes out, this car has been running great with only the necessary fix-ups (oil change, spark plugs, etc.). Car looks much better with stock spoiler or SRT-4 spoiler compared to the oversized aftermarket wings.

Pros: Good car for sporty driving. Gas mileage. Great stock speakers.  Not to hard on the eyes to look at :).

Cons: After about 5 years, the trunk starts having a small leak where the stuff in the trunk doesn't get wet, but there's an obvious wet smell coming from the rear of the car. New seal is easy install.

Reliable, But Not Quick. — I've owned the car for less than one year and it's holding up well, no major issues. This wasn't anything near what I was looking for, but it's what I have. I was looking more for a fast, rear-wheel drive car. Instead I have a fairly slow, front-wheel drive car. I would recommend this to someone who's looking for a car with nice amounts of leg, isn't too concerned with speed and handling that wants a reliable car. Pros: Reliable. Decent Looks. 4Dr.

Pros: Reliability. 4 Dr. Decent Looks.

Cons: Relatively Slow. 4 Dr. FWD.

Fairly Quick, Good Gas Mileage, Plenty Of Room In The Back Seat ; ) — Solid Interior, 18-30 miles a gallon depending on when where and how I'm driving, VERY simple mechanics, good solid car

Pros: Quick, Gas mileage, Simple

Cons: body roll, could be faster

Great Econobox — As far as econoboxes go the Dodge Neon tends to sacrifice some of the superior fuel economy of a honda civic at the expense of some performance. The handles and feels rather tight compared to other cars in its class, and acceleration is decent for the little 4-banger. The seats are also rather comfortable for its class, and I found the driving position to be very nice (this is important for me). My only con on comfort is that the car seems to have very bad blind spots for me (it dosen't for my wife), so I feel claustrophobic when driving. Other than that, this is a great economy car.

Pros: Good MPG, great driver position.

Cons: Chrystler build quality.  Stuipd things tend to break.

Good On The Highway —

There are some things that just should be standard: like an inside trunk release & a 'Low Fuel' indicator light. This car doesn't have those. Also, gas pump pops & I can still fit about 2 gallons worth of gas in the tank. Since I don't like making trips to the gas station, I sit out there for 5 mins forcing the extra gas into the tank. But, this car isn't all bad. I've almost put on 70,000 miles on it & have yet to have any serious problems (knock on wood). A check engine light went on a few years ago, but it was an environmental control thing that was covered under warrenty. I had defective spark plugs that only lasted for 40k, but that's not Dodge's fault - it's the plugs. I got into a minor fender bender & all it did was screw up my front licence plate & took off some paint. This car has been hit & hit stuff & it hasn't taken any serious damage (again, knock on wood). There are some things you just expect from an economy car like this. Like there's going to be alot of road noise (which there is, especially at high speeds), the seats aren't going to be super comfortable, & that the car is going to be slow. The brakes on this car are strong, but they make a lot of noise, especially when wet. We replaced the front pads with something better, but we had to go with the stock stuff for the rear drums. I'd probably recommend you look at getting something like a Civic instead. Because anyone who buys a car like this is looking for something cheap & is good on gas. And the city gas mileage I get is around 18 MPG, but I do drive kinda fast...

Pros: 28-30 MPG on the highway, almost 70k with no major problems, body is durable, strong brakes, 3 cup holders in the front

Cons: No inside truck release, city gas mileage could be better, difficult to full up all the way
Standard Economy Car Complaints: not enough noise insulation, seats aren't super comfortable, lacking on performance (0-60 in 10 seconds)
