2003 Acura TL 3.2 Type-S FWDReview

Buy New But Stay Away From Used — Handled beautifully but not well made - lost its 'tightness' after a year or so. Nice design but manufacturing quality found wanting. Good overall value form money when purchased new but unsure about used quality. Fun to drive though - lots of power Primary Use: Family transportation Pros: For its features, impressively inexpensive Cons: Workmanship found wanting ![]() Looking for a Used TL in your area?CarGurus has 1,286 nationwide TL listings starting at $950. |

The Best Car For The Price Tag... — The care is very driver oriented and gives you a thrill. Nothing compares to Japanese quality!!! Acuras have excellent build quality and their customer service is awesome. As far gas mileage is concerned, it gives me approx. 27miles/gallon... Not bad, I guess for a 3.2L V6. Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: Acceleration Cons: Nothing |

Acceleration is immaculate braking is good..which is a good thing for me=)..Its a acura which is the american Honda..so of course it's built with excellent quality...it looks super nice. It has black leather interior and a beautiful gunmetal metallic color...you want to own one..now days my car will cost you about 15 grand with over 100,000 miles on it...but its soooo worth it. Super fun to drive Primary Use: Family transportation Pros: its HOTT..and super fast...my car will haul some serious ass and looks fabulous doing it Cons: cause it's mine |

Ghfgnhm — Decent performance and look, Fwd and auto tranny are brutal though. Transmission has needed replacing, as per usual with these earlier model TL's. Gas mileage isn't great, but the power makes up for it i guess. Sound system sounds good, but damn you Bose for making only 2 OHM components!!! Pros: Horsepower, look, luxury interior, sound system if the head unit actually played cd's. Cons: FWD, auto trans, turning radius, high km's. |

I Love This Car!!! — Even though there was a recall because of transmissions issues for my model it was already taken care of by the time i bought it. Had it for almost 2 years now and still dives like the firt time i got in it. It will certainly be at the top of my list when i decide to go for the upgrade... Pros: 6 cylinders but still great in mileage. about 26/mpg highway Cons: It's considered a luxury car, therefore your insurance will be kinda high. |

My Mom's Tl — This was one of my mom's cars. She and I both loved it and it was the car that i learned to drive in. Her's was a white type-S and had the 286 horsepower V6. It was great fun to drive and pretty luxurious as well. Overall great car. I would definitley recommend it to a friend. Pros: Acceleration, handling Cons: none |

I Love This Car! — Performance: Acceleration is good. Braking could use a bit more. Handling is good. Build Quality: Minor rattles after owning the car for 6 years. No repairs done so far. So for 6 years, it's done pretty well. Appearance: I love it. Cost of Ownership: I get close to 29 mpg, and I've only had to do the normal oil change maintenance so far. Fun Factor: Fun to drive, although steering radius could be better. Pros: Fun car to drive. Cons: Navigation system is a little slow compared to today's standards. |

260hp And 27mpg. Need I Say More? — I really like the TL-S. It accelerates with authority and still gets 27mpg running to work everyday (no highways!). The fit and finish is great. Exactly what you would expect from Honda. I have had no issues in 18 months which is impressive because it had 117k miles when I bought it. While I would have loved an Infiniti G35 for the RWD, the TL-S is great at less than half the price. Pros: Plenty of power in reserve, yet delivers good everyday fuel mileage Cons: Wish this was rear wheel drive. |

Gotta Love Imports — Build quality and performance good. 260 hp so its fast and since it is a type s it has a stiffer suspenstion and handles fairly well. Nice engine note and makes a good amount of noise when it revs. Redlines at i think 7300 rpm which is good and overal is fun to drive. Fwd and gas mileage are the only negatives. Pros: Build quality and preformance Cons: take premium and fwd |

'03 Acura Tl — The biggest problem with this car is that everyone has one. When I forget where I am parked in a parking lot I sometimes go up to a few other cars before I find mine. Aside from that, the interior is roomy and the navigation works very well. It is a dependable car. Pros: Dependable Cons: Too many of the same car on the road |
