Tdi Wagon. — It's not meant to be fast. But it's faster than it's 90 horsepower might hint, and it gets roughly 52 mpg on my daily commute. It handles reasonably well, and with a few changes that don't affect ride quality, it's fairly neutral. It's a VW, so it's got a few squeeks and rattles, but it's very solid for a car with 95,000 miles on it. It's cheap to run, and maintenance is minimal.

Pros: Fuel Economy, Ride Comfort, Space.

Cons: While it can boogey from 0-30... above that, it'll get eaten by an Echo.

Jetta — If I had money it could look nasty. Rides a little rough, not sure why. 2.0 isn't bad but could use a VR6 and a six speed tranny. Nice car all around though. Would suggest to others to look into getting.

Pros: Nice colors on the guage cluster.  Decent power.  Looks fine stock.

Cons: Rides rough.  Needs extra gear for the 2.0.  Seats are uncomfortable.

The One And Only Jetta E.l.i. — This is a 2002 VW Jetta 1.8T. As you can see its based off the 2004 GLI but with a twist. Has custom molded GLI bumpers, sideskirts, and lights. Performance as of right now it has 215whp and 260ft-lb of torque to stop the torquesteer it has 4 piston brembo big front brakes with gli brakes in the rear. Slotted Rotors that are vented as well. Acceleration will put you in your seat by suprise. You feel the 260ft-lb of torque as it spins first and chirps second and sometimes third. Inside the aggresive body is a black interior with a suede headliner and pillars. Matinence is not bad as long as you keep up with the schedule mantinence. This car has been very good to me. With all the mods it has 24city and 30highway. The car is a BLAST. It handles almost like a go-kart and out of turns it accelerates HARD! If you drive this car you will NEVAR need VTEC again

Pros: Stong body. Best bang for the buck motor in terms of mods.  Clean. Always turns heads

Cons: Some scatches and dents, and ok stock seats but bucket seats will take care of that ;)

My Vw — Has nice acceleration, very nice handling, HALO projector headlights on it, debadged, Nuespeed short ram intake. Fun car to drive, good gas mileage, the braking is pretty good as well, has a nice roar to it, lowered on eibach pro-kit springs

Pros: Amazing car

Cons: Fixing is expensive

Jetta Tdi — The fuel mileage and performance is the best. The handling and ride is nice. It's not a large BMW or Mercedes, but it is a good travelling car. Can spend hours in the driver seat. Even though the price of diesel is around the cost of premium gas, the cost per mile is still less.

Pros: Fuel mileage

Cons: no negatives

Fun And Powerful...maybe Too Powerful For A Front Wheel Drive — Very nice, every option you could think of mirrors and seats that change to the key your using, rain sensing wipers, passenger mirror that changes when shift into reverse, even heated windshield washer fluid. Very powerful and torquey but with that come ridiculous amounts of torque steer and has some traction problems, oversensitive automatic slip reduction and a bull 5h17 135mph governor. Also it is not good in snow at all because of a combination of too much power for a front wheel drive car along with the wide tires, super touchy steering, and the fact that both wheels always spin not just the right one. Otherwise it is a very fun, comfortable car with better than average handling, plenty of power, good gas mileage (faster than a mustang gt w/ nearly double the mpgs) and a lot of potential in the appearance and performance aspects. I would definitely buy again, but would rather take two steps up to a cayman or boxster... or maybe an r32.

Pros: Powerful, every option ever, very peppy, fun, and comfortable to drive, german quality,  unique style, good handling, and innovative features

Cons: Too much power, $250 key, stupid amounts of torque steer along with really touchy steering, only a 5 spd, EXPENSIVE aftermarket products

The 02 Jetta, A Vw Masterpiece — I bought this car after riding in one and being blown away by the acceleration, so once my last car was completely ruined I decided to search one out. I ended up finding one near Chicago *about 300ish miles away* that was resonably priced. After the test drive i had to have it. I haven't had a problems with it yet, not to say that i won't have any. I have heard alot of bad things about the 1.8L Turbo motors but the problems all have seemed to be the lack of matinence. If anyone does buy a jetta with a 1.8T in it make sure that you plan to take car of it, oil changes at every 3000 miles at most with full sythetic oil only. Otherwise the engine will start to clog and you will definately regret that. But if you can handle that, then this is a very fun car to drive with great acceleration, really good handling

Pros: Acceleration, comfort, handling

Cons: Premium gas and speeding tickets

2002 Jetta 1.8t Tiptronic — electronics ... simply that ... everything about the car was amazing but the bugs with the electronics were the end of it ... that and 8,000 dollars to replace the tiptronic transmission ... i would have to say that it was however capable of surprising many more powerful vehicles in terms of a 20-80mph run ... the gearing was perfect for the turbo

Pros: performance and road feel

Cons: electronic gremlins

Low Cost Good Car —

I've had this car for about a year and a half and put roughly 20k miles on it so far. It is one of the best cars I've owned. I've read many bad reviews on the car and it's series and it was listed in consumer reports cars to avoid. Mine is slightly rare in that it is the GLS, leather, premium sound, moon roof, seat warmers, etc. but it's manual transmission. The only problem I've had with this car was in winter time in Washington state. The rain gutters clogged up and caused water to get into the car. I was easily able to treat the issue and it was a few months before it happened again. I may be annoyed with this issue every few months but now I'm living in southern California and I park my car in a garage. Issue avoided. The car is responsive and handles well. Plenty of trunk space. I get complements on it all the time. People say it's a cute little car or that it just looks good. People who sit in it are usually impressed with the look and feel, especially at night. Though the back seat doesn't have much leg room for a 4 door. The cup holders block radio control and the readout. However, there are buttons on the steering wheel so it's a minor issue.

Pros: good looking inside and out.

Cons: not much leg room for a 4 door,

With A Few Upgrades, Not A Bad Car. — This is a great all season vehicle. Decent performance (1.8t model comes with 180hp turbocharged 4 cyl.), but for me needed better wheels and tires. Got it with only 53.000 miles on it for 9,000 and picked up a 3 year/36,000 miles warranty that I found very useful. Good about of trunk space but has the 60/40 fold down seats. Good looking interior, but would have been happier with leather.

Pros: Economic 4-cyl with turbo, good sound system, sunroof, roomy

Cons: Body roll, service visits, seat fabric catches lint
