Battlewagon — One of the fastest, best handling cars I've ever owned and built. Fully upgraded motor, suspension, transmission. Dealt with all the weak points of the car. Increased power to over 350bhp. Used rally car transmission. STI interior. Great Car. more words...

Pros: Power and Handling

Cons: Interior a bit cheap

02 Subaru Impreza Wrx — This car is unbelievable. I rebuilt the whole passenger side of my ride and by what i've seen I am very impressed with the engineering of this car. With the 2 liter turbo boxster engine this car will blow your mind. It is some much fun to drive. High speed corners 0-60 in about 5 seconds what else can you ask for. This car is crazy good in the snow even with bald tires. It drifts like a mofo. I would love to trade up to a STI in the near future.

Pros: Great fun to drive

Cons: Gas mileage

Awesome Car — Alright so I thought I was out of the modified car scene and was happy with my 04 acura tsx but when this came into the dealership I work at I saw a lot of potential. I handed them the keys to my acura and took the suby keys without even driving it first. When i first got it it was pretty rice. it had a carbon fiber hood and truck along with a full c- west body kit and 18 inch wheels. dont get my wrong it looked nice but it wasnt what i was going for. So i reverted it back to stock and started the project. a year in and there is light at the end of the tunnel. the thing that i have learned with this car is that it cant hold over 300whp on stock tranny and internals. take care of that problem first and it will be the best car you have ever owned :)

Pros: awd? turbo? yeah its got both

Cons: transmission and internals

2002 Subaru Impreza — Really good brake kits on this one, also the suspension is amazing to my taste. I like the torque. Build quality is pretty solid, no squeaks or rattles. Apperance i like, the body gets my nut. Interior is like art work, momo seats and wheel. two tone fabric. Boxy fenders and quarter panels to give it a mean look. love the bug eyes. cant get enough of em. good gas mileage. fill only a couple times a month. i love driving this car. handles very nice. i appreciate that. also this car is very easy to work on. engine bay is nice and open. specially if ya throw on a aftermarket CAI. then ya free up almost 2 feet of space. i go out in my shop all the time just so i can play with it all.

Pros: Solid suspension, good braking, plenty of torque, good mechanical engineering

Cons: respectable 4 cyl. but im a big fan of power, could use some more.

My Review — Since this is a review of the car I own it probably will be completely unbiased. Let's see will start off with, performance: the addition of the JDM STI six speed transmission has really livened up this little two liter WRX. It has much improved torque and acceleration, plus I don't have to worry about breaking it like I did with the five speed. To keep all that speed under control the brembo brakes really help out, stopping distances are much shortened over the stock brakes they can even Max out the dry road grip of my 235 performance tires.

Pros: Performance, handling, and it's fun in the snow.

Cons: Minor squeaks and rattles, not 300 HP, dismal 20 MPG highway.

Fast, Cheap, Fun...but Somewhat Homely. — The 2002 Subaru WRX is one of those faces that you can grow to love over time, especially given its amazing performance. It boasts 0-60 acceleration times in the 5.6 to 6.0 seconds range, depending on what magazine test you read, as well as a variety of after market parts so you can modify its performance and handling to your tastes, mild to utterly insane (400+hp anyone?). It definitely has its quirks, in terms of appearance (bugeye lights) and handling (serious understeer with stock suspension) and features, but I'm definitely glad I've owned one. I just returned from a multi-state road trip and averaged 28mpg on the highway. Not bad for a car with 102k miles! Nothing sounds quite like it either - very unique! I highly recommend the 2002 WRX for someone looking for ample performance at a reasonable price.

Pros: Fantastic value, and overall well-made car, tons of aftermarket performance upgrades to improve handling and power.

Cons: Surprisingly heavy (approx. 3200lb!), turbo lag, serious understeer with factory suspension setup.

Subaru Wrx — Subaru wrx is the best with AWD and turbo charged engine Acceleration is amazing. I have a bigger brake kit which stops like no other. Handling is awesome with the boxer engine. You get all this while still at 24mpg Its like a go kart to drive!

Pros: TURBO AWD

Cons: Nothing

Ownership Of My Subaru. — There wasn't much at all that I disliked about this car. It gave me goosebumps every time I drove it. It was fast, and convenient. Regardless of what people may say, it was an amazingly reliable car. With as much as I beat on it, what happened to it was to be expected. I would have expected it to have literally fallen apart by the time I was done with it. If I had the chance to own another one, I would, and am currently considering foregoing more debt just so that I can own another one.

Pros: Reliable, moderately quick car.  Convenience of a sedan, power and speed of a sports car.

Cons: stock suspension is somewhat soggy, 02/03 transmissions are known to be somewhat weak.
