2002 Porsche 911 Review
sroscott says:
Porsche 911 body has continued to grow in popularity with incredible increases in value. The new 911s start at $100,000 and go way up from there. Great driving, handling, fun cars with a lot of power & fantastic maneuverability.

Fun Car To Drive! — Fun and powerful. Gas mileage, cargo space and backseats are the only negatives, but remember this car is not made for its luxury features. Nothing like going on the open road and hitting the gas pedal. The best part about this car is you get respect wherever you go. For example, valet will always park this car in front of the club, hotel, etc...DEFINITELY A HEAD TURNER.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Fun, powerful, sleek and one of a kind

Cons: Gas mileage and good as a second or third car

Great Racing And Exotic "family" Car — Great racing and exotic "family" car Great race car. Although not very family oriented, you still have 2 extra seats on the back for the kids or a short adult. Expensive car when new... BUT parts are NOT. Love it!

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: Great race car. Although not very family oriented, you still have 2 extra seats on the back for the kids or a short adult. Parts are NOT EXPENSIVE

Cons: Expensive car when new...

Weekend Getaway! — This is truly a must see car that runs and sounds amazing. I love the power and its handling ability this car puts out. You get good gas mileage too! It’s great to cruse in with its comfortable seats, you mold right in them.

Pros: Great gas mileage!

Cons: Gotta watch your speed!

Favorite Car Of All Time — I love everything about this car except the occasional maintenance needed which can be a real hassle in rural Virginia. It's beautiful, fun and makes me feel like a million bucks every time I drive it. What else can you say that about?

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: The best car on the road

Cons: Inconvenient to maintain outside of bigger cities

Cool Even To Wash! — Such a cool car to drive on NZ roads. it's even cool to wash it! Build not too bad with excellent mechanics but interior and trip switches not that hot. Would like to own a 997 at a later date.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: The looks

Cons: Interior switches are crap.

I Love It — I bought this on impulse as a daily driver. Very refined interior, love the leather dash. Handles like magic, nice linear power band, AWS and stability control make it the best winter vehicle I have owned. Power gets boring after a while and not much room for mods, Lack of trunk and interior space.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: It is Magic

Cons: Drive one if you have to opportunity

Few Words For The 996 Turbo — you're gonna love this baby. drives like a luxury car. feels like a race car. a bit bumpy with its stiff suspension. not quite a head turner but keeps those japs and italians behind your back from the street. just have to drive it twice a week to avoid car problems.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: performance

Cons: keeping/storing/collecting

My 996 — always wanted one and finally got her 3 years ago. Love the car, but since I got my S4, I don't drive her as much as i would like to. Maybe I'll upgrade to a turbo one day. the engine is pretty solid and I haven't had any major issues with it.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: looks good, fun to drive.  handles like it's on rails, but it can still get away if you're not careful

Cons: it's not a turbo.

Porsche Build The Best Sports Cars — 996 has great performance and handling. The build quality is high which is the cornerstone of Porsche cars generally. I think the styling of the 996 is beautiful and was unduly criticised. Cost of ownership - economical. It's a fun car!

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: Classic design and great performance

Cons: There is no reason to avoid this car. It is a motoring icon.
