You Want A Ride??? — I love my car. It's been great and I haven't had any problems out of it. (except for the aftermarket springs that were previous owner put on) I want to eventually do an engine swap and then turbo that motor. Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) Pros: They won't roll over. Amazing suspension! Cons: When I put my foot in the floor board... it sucks gas!!! :) |

A Solid First Car — It's actually a 1999 model, but the US system doesn't think the Lancer existed before 2002! (it wasn't sold there under that name before then). Damn insular Americans! Goes reasonably well considering 1.8 non-turbo engine. Handles well coz of low centre of gravity and light weight. Looks good for a late-nineties cheap sedan. Made of tin - wouldn't want to be in a crash in it! Surprisingly reliable - 10yrs, 86,000kms and no major problems! (prob just jinxed myself!) Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: Cheap and fun Cons: Feels like it's made of tin / aluminium! |

Worth Every Dollar And More — Mitsubishi's are amazing! They handle so well and are quick off the line. I guarentee that I will have an evo in the future. I would not trade my year of car for anything it has held up so well. The only repairs I have had to do so far is regular checkups. And on top of all that, its fun to drive! Primary Use: Family transportation Pros: Quick, Handles well, Comfortable. Cons: none |

Civic And Corolla Owners Wasted Their Money — I love getting Japanese quality for Korean prices. The Lancer gets passed up as an "off-brand" Japanese car, making used-car prices appealingly low. The thing's a blast to drive, even in automatic trim. It's peppy (for a small car) and relatively quiet. Cost of ownership is very low. Aside from regular oil /fluid changes and a timing belt swap at 120k, the car has not required any service. Pros: Power everything, attractive interior, peppy Cons: Thin paint, noisy AC compressor |

Not Stock — Bought this car 2 years ago completely stock. Realized it was way to slow, so I put an obx header, short ram air and a full exhaust on it. 1/4 mile time went from 17.9 to 16.9 after the parts were put on. The exterior has a body kit, carbon fiber hood, carbon fiber wing and 16 inch Sport race rims. Interior is completely stock. The only thing I don't like about the car is it's slow pick up and that it is an automatic. Pros: Interior, exterior, quick Cons: 1/4 mile time, Automatic Transmission |

My First Car — First car. It is actually a '97 model but car iq wouldn't let me choose. For a 1.5l engine it seems to go nicely. Only $3500 to buy. Very cheap to run. Good fun to drive because of manual. Overall a very nice first car. No real mods planned or intended. Pros: Manual, looks, affordability Cons: Few dents, lots of stone chips, lots of kms. |

02 Oz Mitsubishi Lancer — I have installed some Tein Springs that combine with the stock sway bar of the OZ that produces awesome handling. However its not fast at all, but i wasn't going for speed when I wanted a car. Looks ok for stock oz of course, but there are many bodykits that are available for the car. And of course lots of customization. Pros: Great modification car, lots of parts to change and easy! Great gas mileage!!! Cons: Not recomended for track, there are better cars that go fast for the money you pay on this one. |
