Alfaromeo 156 1.9jtd 115hp — great car all around :D it's a super economic car, great for 80-120kph accelerations, 200 kph top speed for now :D spare parts are quite cheap and it's great fun driving it; i'm sure my next car will be an AlfaRomeo too :)

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: it's an AlfaRomeo

Cons: nothing

Its Great — have only owned the car a few months but can say i enjoy driving it, it pulls really well and corners great, i'll race anyone, comfy seats, tho rear leg room not that great, hasn't let me down yet (touch wood) and as we all know, the italians know how to style a car, its beautiful..

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: great handling and looks, good performance

Cons: always want more power  lol

Great Car With A High Wow Factor To Impress Your Friends. — This car is all about the fun of driving and the appearance. With the new 2002 interior, this is a spectacularly beautiful car both on the outside and inside. Cost of ownership is moderate - car needs repairs to the undercarriage/suspension quite often.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: A lot of car for the money when buying second hand.

Cons: If reliability is your main concern, this is not your car. Buying an Alfa comes from the heart!

Falls Apart — alfa need i say more. falls apart engines blow up alot. gearboxes fail. electrics are crap. body panels are thin. just about every part on the car needs replacing and then breaks again lol. in my opinion dont buy a italian car unless its a ferrari or lambo

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: its italian

Cons: its italian

156 Selespeed — Pure Italian sex, you wont see anything with a bigger rear spoiler without it lookig stupid. Good performance without paying stupid insurance premiums. Build quality is a little shoddy. Good fuel consumption. Leather interior to do for with the badge on the back of the seats, beautiful alloy wheels, as standard.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Looks. Performance.

Cons: Shoddy workmanship.

Nice — accelerates pretty well for a 1.6, handling is brilliant. so far ive had to change the upper and lower suspension arms on both sides on the front end, new drivers side drive shaft, head gasket, a few lambda sensors, and a bit of fiddling with the gear box. its appearance.... well its an alfa romeo!! it does about 34 mpg if you drive sensibly.... overall its a great car to drive.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: its an alfa romeo

Cons: maintenance

Charming And Super Looking Average Car. — The Alfa Romeo 156 that I drove for a week-end was a company car that I borrowed from a friend. It was a standard 156 sedan with the 1.9jtd engine which produces 115hp. The car drives well. The handling is on the sporty side, sacrificing comfort for a good road feel. Personally, I didn't think the compromise was that well-chosen: the car doesn't really stand out with its road-holding and it isn't very comfortable for a family sedan. Note that this wasn't the sports version! The interior was all-leather with the wooden steering wheel. You can't get any better than this. But it is a very Italian car in the way that everything looks super at a first glance, but after a while you start noting small imperfections and bigger irritators like noises, bad build quality, low-quality leather, irregular fits and other negligence.

Pros: She's got the looks!

Cons: It's Italian all the way, incl. build quality, reliability and resale value...

It Was The Best Of Cars, It Was The Worst Of Cars... — I had the 156 GTA (3.2 V6) when it was all working properly this car was epic. sadly, it lived down to its reputation and spent many a day in the Alfa dealership haveing brake discs, steering column, front anti-roll bar, brake calipers... etc replaced. When it worked tho, boy what a car. 0-60 in 6 secs and it made a noise like you wouldn't believe. I'd have another one tomorrow...

Pros: it was an Alfa

Cons: it was an Alfa

Alfa Romeo 156 Jts — I owned a 2002 Alfa Romeo 156 JTS 5 speed, this car handles great, brakes well and looks really good, has many features but the finish is very 'plasticy' The only thing i didn't like about the car was cost of repairing it! Any little thing would cost nothing under $100

Pros: Great car to drive.

Cons: Expensive to repair and long time to order parts

Love It — Great Car, it runs smooth, steering wheel shift change excellent, comes with alarm, MOMO leather seats, big sunroof, midsize trunk, 4 wheel disc brakes with ABS and EBD, 2.0L DOHC, variable valve timing... lots of extras and fun...

Pros: ABS, 4wheel Disck Brakes, EBD, MOMO leather seats, big sunroof

Cons: Slow start, worst dealership in Costa Rica
