Good Car And Lasts For Ever — Performance - acceleration not so graeat Performance - braking pretty good Performance -real good ive made some tweaks so the back right wheeldoesnt come off the ground in hard left turns like most of them did along with a lot of other cars Build Quality -its needed some repairs mostly from me racing and stuff but its a 1.8 L with a turbo and ive needed to replace the turbo and the clutch went last year so it gave me a ood excuse to get a lighter race clutch no squeeks or rattles that ive found yet Appearance - pretty good if your someone that like that curved styling but me personmally i like the older ones like 85-00 my self but this ones growing one me the interior is pretty good its a mid level car so it pretty roomy and comfy Cost of Ownership - petty low ok on gas and not much heavy maintence i mean like oil changes and wheel allignment but really thats it Fun Factor - this car is really fun to drive i race it a lot and i really like it

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: fun and fast

Cons: you dont feel as if your going nearly as fast as you really are

Fun Everyday Car — Highly recommend to upgrade ECU and exhaust...mine Has Revo Stage 2 upgrades, fender mount cold air, 4 Bar fuel pressure regulator, Stratesphere Diverter valve, Eurospeed 2' downpipe and Magna Flow exhaust. It puts HP up to around 245 at 16-18lbs of boost...a lot of power for a 4cylinder. Prior to upgrades I had a lot of ECU problems, now just the typical coil pack blowing now and then. Plus I get 28-30mpg

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Turbo

Cons: parts are expensive

I Absolutley Love It — the VR6 is a beastly 6 cyl motor and i love it. it has the most beautiful undertone and a snotty mean heart throne. my car is awsome. its pretty stock except for a neuspeed perf. chip, remus axle back exhaust, ported swiss intake box, and a badgeless grill.

Pros: it burns 2nd and chirps 3rd

Cons: its exspensive to maintain

Vw Jetta 2001 — The best car ever!! Will never buy a North American car as long as I can afford it...Gas can be a bit pricey when I put the pedal to the metal but it is worth it because she goes!!

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Great handling, tight turning radius, fast ride, sturdy/safe

Cons: Expensive repairs

Really Fun Car To Drive...not So Fun On The Wallet — Bought JT second hand from the original owner in Chicago. Love driving JT but drawbacks include mass airflow issues, lots of maintenance and engine light is always on even right after I resolve the error codes. :( Two words: Extended Warranty!! :)

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: CUTE and FUN car to drive. Not bad on gas mileage but lots of engine issues

Cons: Maintenance costs are $$$

German Enigneered. — My favorite car, VW should have refined the mechanical build though. A great german-engineered car with lots of problems though. The innovation at the time was great, as VW introduced the 20v 1.8T. However I experienced many mechanical problems, mostly with the automatic 01m transmission (notorious for railure), and electrical. Had to replace tranny twice within a year. I loved the community surrounding the mods of vw's though, and the mk4 had endless tuning options. Car was overall a sleek simple looking one too. Interior is simple enough to be elegant. Handling was okay, pretty normal for an econobox.

Pros: German Engineered, Quality of materials and design, 1.8T, Modifications, Culture

Cons: Mechanical failure, so-so mileage, expensive repairs
