Greatest Car I've Driven And Owned So Far — performance - pretty zoomy from the factory, once the car hits 100k things break and it gets pretty costly, but a beautiful, small, light weight car, gets great gas mileage and is very fun to drive, i'd recommend it to anyone

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: fast, fun, not american

Cons: one thing goes bad, expect more

Total Value High — Albeit random electrical issues, this car has gobs of torque, it's SOLID and at 120k miles still behaves as friskily as the day we brought her home. Extremely versatile and roomy, and a breeze to drive in traffic or at 150mph :D

Pros: Top Speed

Cons: Expensive Maintenance

2001 Gti Vr6 — I think the vr6 drives very well and at most has better top end acceleration rather than low end torque. I love the style of the car and am looking forward in owning the car for many years to come.

Pros: Exterior Styling, Engine Performance, Interior

Cons: Low end torque, lacking all wheel drive, either work on your own car.....or pay a mechanic tons of cash to keep on top of repairs.

Gti's Rule! — Awesome car! Didn't change style for 7 years! Looks cool, performs well, quick off the line, it rules! Not a gas guzzler. So worth the money. Someone we know bought a Toyota for the same price but it had NOTHING!! She still has it (yawn), and we still have ours and it rocks!

Pros: very cool

Cons: nothing negative

Golf Gti — Great acceleration, at 7 years old, car is starting to disintegrate. Electric window mechanism is poorly designed - I have had to replace 2 since owning the car. Hoping that the Golf 6 is released in SA sometime soon, but I am interested in a hydrogen car as my next vehicle, so might not take that plunge.

Pros: Acceleration

Cons: Poor staying power i.t.o. construction

Great Car — vr6 engine gives great acceleration in any circumstance. factory sport suspension wins everytime in a mountainous slalom type course. no creaks or rattles. everything sounds as stable as a new vehicle except its 7 yrs old. the exterior looks great with its light gold paint job, black background headlights and blacked out side markers and side turn signals. factory 5 spoke 17" rims and a great sounding borla catback exhaust. upgraded neuspeed ignition wires, sirius satellite radio, jvc head unit, polk audio speakers, eclipse 4 channel amp, kicker 750.1 powering a kicker 12" L7.

Pros: great acceleration/handling  and interior/exterior styling

Cons: can be a little pricey if something goes wrong

Golf Gti Turbo — my last car was a golf gti turbo, bullet proof nice everyday car which didnt do what it said on the tin, slow.should be called a slow gti. new ones are better.

Pros: bullet proof except for the odd common fault

Cons: slow and looking dated

2001 Vw Gti — Could be a little more HP And TQ Also could be a little lower ride hight like the r32 as well as the all wheel drive BUT other than those disclamers i absolutely love it

Pros: everything

Cons: HP/TQ,  ride height , and drivetrain

Bamf — certainly not the greatest GTI out of all the years, but it's fun, reliable, and comfortable. Don't forget about the legendary exhaust note of the VR6.

Pros: VR6, rain sensing wipers, heated leather, auto climate control.

Cons: It could be a bit faster, and handle a little better (mine is stock)
