A Commodity Car Thats Not Built Like A Commodity Car — Bought this car from a salesman with a 130,000 miles on it, it now has almost 190,000. The car impresses me very much with its build quality. No creaks or rattles, transmission is still solid, and no major breakdowns, ride quality is great, only standard maintenance. All in all, a pretty amazing car.

Pros: Reliability, build quality, gas mileage

Cons: average looks

Black '01 Camry Le — Overall I think this a dependable vehicle but have have encountered problems with my check engine light (catalyst converter replacement) and the light stays on. Other than that I think this a excellent car for road miles.

Overall:

A Dependable Car. — Apart from looks and some wear-tear of this 13 year old car, it is a safe and reliable car. Performance wise it delivers power when you need it, especially highway overtaking capability. Good for regular use, running errands around and to/fro work. Not exactly a head-turner, but something to be content with.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Reliable, powerful, and very strong ac/heater.

Cons: A bit too much rollover on turns.

2001 Toyota Camry CE Review
GuruFQR51 says:
My 2001 Camry has 260k miles and feels tight and New. Had to replace some suspension components the radiator at around 220k and fuel pump at 250k and now has an oil leak but prior to 225k nothing was replaced. These parts just held up so well and they are destined to fail at some point and be replaced. The engine is incredibly reliable. It’s very quiet for a 260k mile old four cylinder. Pretty surprising acceleration considering its that high mileage and old. Super responsive in the city. Gas pedal is nice and sensitive. You can definitely feel the lack of power once you get above 50 mph but otherwise it feels nice and peppy. It disguises the lack of power quite well in the city as the engine is torquey and has good low end torque and even the smallest throttle applications get amplified so you only need to push the gas pedal a tiny bit to get meaningful acceleration. Makes it feel faster than it is. Off a red light it feels much faster than my Honda v6 til 3k rpm so it has really good low end grunt. You can beat people off the line for sure but you will lose to literally anything in a drag race (if you are stupid enough to race anyone in this thing anyways) and it feels really slow when passing on the highway and when the engine gets past 5200 rpm. Steering is light and responsive but devoid of feel. Car feels very playful and light but don’t expect sports sedan handling as it’s sort of floaty and it leans in turns. But its really easy to drive fast. Ride is extremely comfy and soft. Seats could be more supportive but still comfier than a 2017 Jeep Wrangler.

Farby100 says:
The styling, looks, interior accoutrements, and comfort feel are clearly distinctive and competitive. The ride is smooth albeit with a somewhat heavy-with-a-touch-of-slow-bounce early Town Car recoil response to bumps and humps in the road. The engine is sufficiently powered and responsive yet the vehicle has a heavy-overloaded sensation at times during turns and accelerations. The bodywork, doors, windows, dash layout, interior controls and cabin construction all display the type of quality and durability we come to expect from Toyota. The engine components, from this non-mechanics perspective, appear of equal quality and performance.

Handling Ranked 2001 Honda Accord DX better.
"Suspension design and tighter tolerances of component suspension parts."
Cargo Capacity Ranked 2001 Honda Accord DX worse.
"The shape of the trunk cargo configuration, especially depth and height barriers related to trunk lid, give an appearance of more space and accommodating taller packages."
