Grand Am Gt1 — In the performance department, the Grand Am is fair. It's acceleration is enough to make the drive exciting. Braking is less than ideal due to poor caliper design. That can be remedied with small but efficient part upgrades. Handling is somewhat sluggish for the car's size and weight, but again aftermarket provides a noticeable improvement in this area. The build quality for these cars is exceptional because of its perceived market. While in production it took a large portion of the midsized market. To accomplish this it needed to last. The appearance of the vehicle varies through the models, with the GT model being the sleekest. With some small modifications it can be a very smooth sleek looking vehicle. As far as cost of ownership goes, there are a few maintenance issues that these cars seem to need on a regular basis. However once properly attended to, the car performs well. These cars are fun to drive, simple to work on, and they have a larger fan base than publicly known. Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: Good base design. Cons: Expensive aftermarket. |

I love my Grand Am GT. it lowered 2". racing seats. flame paint, wing, 17" wheels. cross drilled rotors all around. side exiting exhaust. no mufflers. I love driving this car. it handles great , lotsa get up & go Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) Pros: paint job Cons: front wheel drive |

Solid. — For an inexpensive car, it preforms well. It handles great, pretty zippy for only four cylinders, and I just put in new break pads an rotors so it stops on a dime! Its fun, impossible to break and easy to fix. Great success! ;) Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: inexpensive, fast, preforms well, hard to break, safe Cons: my sound system sucks, iffy in the winter |

I Love It — I Like its dependability its a very reliable car well handling like most FWD cars good brakes and acceleration. It performs quiet well for being under 300hp. Like most new cars it has its its problems with interior peices over time but nothing big and its very stylish. It gets up to 27 on the highway low maintenance. Brand new it costs around 25,000 to 30,000. It is a very fun car to have it can sit 5 and get up and go for its size and power. Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: It looks good and if you take care of it, it takes care of you Cons: The window regualors break quiet often |

My Car — I like it, its quick and i loke the wide stance it has. My only proble is the security issue, i hate that actually. there should be a recall on that if so many people have problems with it. The noise level on the highway isnt terrible nbut its noticeable too. Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: look, drivability, power Cons: security light, 4 door, everyone has it |

Grand Am Review — *Performance Re-built transmission so first gear is rough at full throttle, but other gears shift like a dream. Acceleration is above average. Handles very well also. Fun car to drive. 3.4L engine and ram air intake give the car a proclaimed 175 hp and 200 trq. But I believe the pover to the wheels is less than that. *Build Quality Like I said re-built transmission was the worst of all repairs done. But other things have gone wrong mostly due to my driving. For a daily driver very solid car. If you are going to put the petal to the floor every once and a while, it's average. Other repairs have been a valve from my engine coolant was leaking. Melted transmission gears. *Appearence Fantastic looking car, although I prefer coupes. The front end is gorgeous to me but the back end isn't as pretty to me.I have twenty inch Dropstar DS05 rims that I put on in the summer. Pros: Look, Milage, Performance Cons: one or two small dings, dirty floormats |
